Another extractor....

Well Im not a collector, Im a shooter and ive never kept a box more than 3 years.

I understand a lot of people don't want empty boxes cluttering up the house. But when it comes to reselling a gun, a gun with the box and papers usually sells faster and brings more $$$$. Just saying, YMMV.

wow - just called S&W for the call tag to send in my gun. they said repairs are running 4 weeks from the time they get it.. what has been a good, fun experience is quickly going south.

do the good folks at S&W ever read these forums? do they know that their products and service levels SUCK? :(

That's true, and I have kept all mine. On the practical side... those boxes don't see much resale action from me. ;)

I'm a little confused here, your gun broke, and S&W is sending you a call tag to ship the gun to them at their expense for repair. They give you an estimate of turn around time, and since their estimate did not suit you, their products and service levels suck?

What part about being without your 15-22 for a month doesn't suck? ;)

Ohhhh SNAP!!!!

(although, guns shouldnt brake)

That's why I have backups. ;)

I hear ya. Still shuffling feet on the Sig purchase... heck... maybe I'll trade something toward it. I got a Taurus PT 945 that I use about as much as the box it came in a decade ago.

Dont throw out that box Phil. It could someday be worth $5.:D

My guess is that the poster read many pages regarding a product that has many identifiable issues. He probably read many more pages on the poor customer service displayed by S&W. He might have read the many pages regarding rifles returned only to break again sometimes within minutes. Maybe he got the runaround from S&W on when/if they really sent a call tag. Maybe he doesn't believe that all the problems are centered on a different companies ammunition. Maybe he has come to the realization that his spending $450 was a crap shoot and the odds are fairly long against him.

I think he has a valid point!

You have your opinion and I respect that.

With all the maybes in your above post, just maybe he should not have bought the gun in the first place. Or maybe he should have known up front the issues with the purchase.

$5.00? Check out what empty boxes bring on auction sites like Gun Broker.

But regarding your boxes, do what you want, they are yours.

Yeah, when wanting another I always check the "inventory" to see what I might be able to do without. But I do better selling outright to someone vs trading to a dealer. Dealer always wants to give me $150 to $200 less than I want for the gun.

In our area, Swap Giant is doing very well in helping folks buy and sell guns.

My 15-22 is about two month old and unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I have not had a chance to fire it yet. After reading the forum and all the problems I wonder if should just ask S&W if they will just take it back (with a refund)? Sorely disappointed.
