Another Mass Shooting.

From the "news" article:

"The police chief said the gunman had used an SKS "AK-47 style" rifle that had been legally purchased in Las Vegas on July 9."

Either the reporter is a liar, or the chief is. In any community, it is not surprising that things go downhill from there.

??? What lie was told?

SKS AK47 style weapon? Which one is it then?
I love how uninformed reporters report weapons

We need to separate the ability to do evil, from the availability of guns. Evil will find a way, whether guns are available or not. The gun culture needs to fashion a push-back against this mindset.

I used to go to the Gilroy Garlic festival when we lived in the bay area. The loss of life is so sad but it is especially tragic when two of the victims were children. Really heartbreaking!

The article I read said it was a WASR-10 semi-auto purchased at Big Mikes in Fallon, NV. Not sure how he lawfully purchased it in another state but pretty sure it was not legal to bring into CA.

I found the most info about this incident on heavy.com.

I saw the statement - the Chief said 'SKS' first, then added 'AK-47-type' type. Seemed clear to me that he knew most folks wouldn't know what an SKS might be, but would know AK-47. I see no big deal, let alone lying.

Not sure how a WASR-10 is NOT an AK--47 style rifle.

It was an emotional statement - he starts at 17 seconds in. YouTube

Reports now state that the assailant was a NV resident when he purchased the rifle at Big Mikes. So it looks like it was a legitimate purchase. It was illegal to bring it into CA, however.

Oh, it was illegal eh?

Didn't seem to stop the shooter.

As our society continues to collapse and we fall further and further from traditional family values, look to this sort of thing to become a regular occurrence.

Unfortunately, it already is a "regular occurrence ".

I fail to understand why "AW" related deaths these incidents are broadcast big time in the media while statistics like 4 deaths are small potatoes compared to what goes on in our major cities. The following is an excerpt from a blog called Second City Cop updated daily by a Chicago Police Officer::

So compare the coverage of the recent California mass shooting (it's national everywhere!) to this past weekend in Chicago:

  • At least 48 people were shot — eight fatally — in incidents of gun violence within city limits over the weekend.

Shootings escalated as the weekend went on: Nine people were wounded Friday after 5 p.m., 15 were shot Saturday and Sunday saw 24 people shot.

  • Year to Date
    Shot & Killed: 269
    Shot & Wounded: 1291
    Total Shot: 1560
    Total Homicides: 296

Because the Chi town incidents dont fit the narrative.

Needs to be a large gathering and a number of people in one incident.

1zies and 2zies lime chi town dont stoke the narrative is all.

Unless of course one of the chi town incidents involves a young child then maybe youll get a bleep on MSM.

Its all about stoking the flame on mass shootings oh and glorifying the so called evil doer.

If the MSM would STOP glorifying and sensationalizing these morons maybe they would reduce the number of morons doing moronic things.

Oh and do away with gun free zones.

The unprofessional, opportunistic MSM appears to find it acceptable to continue writing these stories in blood. They know better, yet they persist. One can only conclude their agenda is that precious to them.

I agree our so-called government cannot fix our social structure problems on their own, but they sure could quit making things worse!

I just got back from San Jose. This is from the horse's mouth, or donkey's derriere. The suspect claimed a nationality of Italian/Iranian. There is speculation (and I mean speculation) about the motive. He could be bat guano crazy, or the shooting MIGHT be a religious and/or political statement. Since we do not discuss religion or politics here, I have nothing more to say.

The rifle is a Soviet SKS carbine. It is not an assault weapon under California law or under the proposed Federal law. It has a 10 round, non-detachable magazine. It is not "a fully automatic AK47 with a 50 round magazine spraying bullets all over", or any of the other nonsense that is on the news. The suspect bought the rifle in Nevada, because he has a Nevada driver's license. He could not buy the rifle in California with a Nevada license. Again, it is not an assault weapon under California law, and it was perfectly legal to bring it into California.

The shooting is a tragedy, and there are people who are disseminating false information to advance their political agenda, and I have nothing to say about that.

Most of you know what an assault rifle is. The shooter didn't have one. An SKS is not an AK-47, no matter what the shooter had. Most of you know that.

There are a lot of things that I know little about, and even more that I know nothing about. I try not to make pronouncements about them, particularly for public consumption. If I did, I wouldn't be surprised if folks got all judgmental about it.

Agreed, our "social structure " is broken and needs repair if not an overhaul. However, the Government has a role to play in fixing it.

[RAGE!]THE GOVERNMENT CAUSED IT![/RAGE]
