Some may remember last week when I posted a thread about a vein bursting in my leg. This picks up where that thread left off...

I was told to see my doctor in two days, which would be on a Saturday. Thar wasn't possible, so the ER doctor told me to come back on Saturday & he would recheck my wound. We did so, I while I was there he was really unhappy with my blood pressure. He ended up admitting me to the hospital, where I spent the next three days. My blood pressure levels were way low, as were my air saturation level. Also, we were having to fight my blood sugar, which kept plummeting. I told the doctor I didn't understand it, because I was eating way more while I was in the hospital than I normally eat. Anyways, they got everything relatively under control & sent me home. So now it's up to me. I'm getting winded easily, & may have to go on air around the clock. Right now I only use oxygen at night. I have discovered that the CPap machine is great:when I need air in a hurry, I'll turn it on along with the air compressor & it acts like a blower or a supercharger, getting the oxygen into my system a lot faster. I'll keep you posted...

Woah! I guess I missed part 1. I hope you get everything going your way soon and keep it going your way. Earlier this years I got really short winded and couldn't hardly stoop over to pet a cat without getting winded. Turned out I was anemic...VERY anemic. I got on to iron capsules and folic acid and a blood transfusion and I haven't looked back.

That blood transfusion was awesome. I dragged my out-of-breath behind in to the hospital and spent 6 hours getting 2 units of blood and eating jello and drinking soda pop and reading fishing magazines. When I walked out of there I felt like I could push my chest through a brick wall.

I hope you get all fixed up. let is know how it goes.

Good luck. Sometimes finding another Doctor can help. I had a battle with anemia and it was surprised at the problems it caused. Stay strong getting old ain't for sissies.

Tim, I too missed part 1 somehow, so this update is good but concerning to me. You are definitely on my prayer list now, bud. You be "old time tough" ;) and hang in there, my friend.

This is one of those things I think you should get more than one opinion on. Hoping you come out of it well!
