Hi All,

Talking specifically about the ASP 9mm designed by Paris Theodore.

Has anyone here fired one? I wonder what the action is like in DA. Is it noticeable smoother/lighter/shorter than a stock Model 39 (from which it is derived)?

Any personal experience/impressions regarding this pistol are appreciated.

Thanks,

Had one years ago with three mags an mag pouch. Finish held up but clear grips scratched fast.. Double action was about the same as any model 39. Also had to be careful bringing hammer back for single action. Guttersnipe sight took some use to get decent with. Interesting history on them and Paris! Sold mine years ago, kinda wish I still had it.

Same story on the one I once owned.

So is it safe to say that the changes were related to chopping/external dimensions and not internally? Do you know if any throating or reliability work was done?

Thanks for the great answers so far.

I've owned the ASP as well as DEVEL and Behlert 39s. I found their triggers to be similar. It just feels like a regular 39/59 with a spring kit. I sold the ASP and kept the DEVELs. Although I did like a lot of Paris Theodore's modifications, I just couldn't get comfortable with the Guttersnipe.

I picked one up at a show a few years ago got the mint , ASP 39 and 3 mags with black shoulder rig for 275 bucks . I did a double take went back and sure enough 275 I new what it was . The action seemed about like any 39 , the sight worked for what it was for .
