Any doctors here? Jock itch medications?

Many years ago, someone asked me a similar question. I wasn't listening too close, and just answered, it was a fungus, similar to athletes foot, so deal with it.
Shortly, I heard my name yelled in a blood curdling scream, along with a few unmentioned expletives.
The fool had grabbed his athletes foot treatment and used it.
ABSORBINE JR. !!
I only mentioned this because, well, it, uh, ……worked.

In closing:
YMMV;)

I suffer from the same malady. I get a Wal-Mart product called "Jock Itch". It works for me and is less than half of the price of the name-brand stuff. Been using it for a long-time now.

Don't laugh but you could try garlic, peel and crush a clove and spread it on. Also a little Neosporin might help. Zyrtec will help with the itch in the meantime.

When we cut hogs back when i was a yung-un, Pop would have a rag soaking in some Turpentine.

After slicing the sack, the testicles were extruded and removed, then Pop would apply a generous dose of that Turpentine soaked rag.

Now, they'd squeal before the Turpentine, but afterward, they'd make an un-godly sound like I've still yet to hear imitated.

Guaranteed to remove any and all infection, bacteria, skin cells and even raise your voice.

And you want to know why they went feral?????????

I had the miserable affliction about 45 years ago while in the Air Force. I went to the dr several times and was given lots of stuff to rub on, nothing worked. I asked the pharmacist at a local drug store what he would recommend. He handed me a tube of ting off the shelf. I went back and rubbed it on, and yes it burned. After about two applications of this stuff, the jock itch started drying up and I haven't had a problem since... It worked. I do not know if ting is still available, but if you can find some and use it, I promise, your jock itch will be whipped.

Hi:
I am late to this discussion but if you still have this issue/problem:
1. ifnyou wear "Jockey Shorts" underwear-STOP. Start wearing "Boxers Shorts".
2. If it is still availble after all these years, purchase a can/container of "Corsendine Baby Powder". It use to come in a pink and white can)
3. After showering and drying, sprinkle the power on the affected area and then put slip on your loose fitting "Boxers".
4. Keep the "Affected Area" dry.
5. Avoid tight/snug fitting jeans/pants.
6. White Cotton Boxers only.

Ive had good luck with Micanozole nitrate 2% (CVS HEB wal mart etc very common stuff) It now comes in a spray can that sprays at any angle (very handy) recently this stopped working for me & I tried Tolnaftate 1% again. Ah relief. Lately I have been using both (belt & suspenders method). Mixing up your meds might be worth a try as well.

The diluted bleach (dilution factor unknown) sounds very good. Perhaps a compress soaked in the solution & placed on the affected area might be worth a try. Good Luck!

Everything previously mentioned is good advice.

ranger pat suggested what I always ended up with-Desenex-it will kill it quick, but have something to bite on before you use it. You may want to play Hendrix's song, "Let me stand next to your fire" during the application.

The powder and the powder spray do not work. Get a tube of
Great Value "Jock Itch" at Walmart. It's a salve. Smear it on.
Only about $4 for a small tube. Works for me. Good luck!

If you're gonna use bleach to wash your underpants make sure to run the UP's thru the rinse cycle at least twice. Udderwise the residual bleach if you don't multi rinse will combine with sweat and irritate your testi cals as much as fungi.

Change the laundry soap used to wash your under clothing .. you may be allergic to the soap and when you become a bit sweaty our skin reacts to it .. even if you have used the same soap for years ..

also if you have changed medicine lately could be cause or reaction to something ..

Good luck !!

Squirt it down with some W-D 40, works every time.

For any kind of itch, heat rash, i use lava soap. Wash it, the area a few times. Maybe there's lye in the soap I don't know but the relief is there.

My advice would be to quit fooling around at Walgreens. Go see a dermatologist. My guess is he'll send you over to a compound pharmacy to get a mix of Nystatin cream solution.

Exactly! Find out why, it could be an allergy, a virus, or something that is triggering the itch, but not skin related. An abscess somewhere, or tumor could be triggering the itch.
