I figured I’d get the booster and while there, treat me like a human pincushion and get the flu shot too.
It’s put me on the couch for a couple of days with a fever running up to high 102 then normal then back up. Tired too. Took a home Covid test which was negative.
I’ll give it one more day then get a pro test.
Has anyone else reacted to the booster like this?
Vaccine and booster have all been Moderna.
Smell and taste are both normal too.

When you get both shots in the same day, there are too many variables to know what caused the fever. The COVID vaccine, the Flu vaccine, or a random virus. Some are going around.

Jessie,

My 17 year old daughter and I got a Pfizer booster at 10am this morning. Absolutely no reaction.

The pharmacist that gave it to us said he received the Moderna booster and he had some reactions that sound similar to yours.

Hope it passes soon.

Booster (Moderna) didn't bother me at all, but my wife was quite sick for about 36 hours.

A fever of 102° is worth checkin' in with your doc, IMO. Phone call or text message through an app, etc.

I haven't reacted to recent flu, Pfizer booster, or pneumonia shots, but the anti-shingles Shingrix shot made me feel kinda "off" overnight.

My 2nd moderna was slight achey joints and felt a little yucky the next day. 3rd same but less severe. Did the flu shot couple of months before the 3rd moderna. Worst part was pulling the band aid off my hairy shoulder.

No side effects here but my doc recommended 2 or 3 weeks between the Pfizer booster and the flu shot.

Thanks for the replies. I hate to give a like when someone says they or their spouse felt pretty bad afterwords.
Makes me feel a little better that I’m not alone in my reaction.
I’m monitoring things and see how it goes tomorrow. Right now no fever and don’t feel too tired.

I got the Pfizer booster the weekend before Thanksgiving. No reaction at all.

No sore arm either. I had one after the 1st and 2nd shots. But nothing with the booster.

Mrs. QD67 did have a sore arm and felt a little " off" afterwards.

My manager got his booster on Tuesday. He left work early on Wednesday, and was out sick Thursday.

I guess everyone reacts differently.

We got Moderna also. I had no reaction at all. Hubby had mild fever for 2nd shot and booster, needing to nap most of the next day each time.
Separated from the flue shot by a few weeks.

Fever and mild to moderate cold symptoms are not an unusual reaction for many vaccines - it is a sign that your immune system is reacting the way it is supposed to.

After almost every flu shot, shingles shot, Covid shot, etc. I have had I typically feel wiped out the next day. But rest and Tylenol usually do the trick for me. If your symptoms last longer than 48 continuous hours then I would consult your family doctor, but if they fade then you should be fine.

If you are wondering, there is no possibility of contracting Covid from the vaccine. You may have been exposed prior to getting the vaccine and are now developing symptoms because it takes 2-4 weeks for the vaccine to have full effect, but you didn't get it from the shot itself.

Hope you feel better. :)
