I have used mayo, you must use it very sparingly.
Prefer butter.
Prefer butter.
I just read that if you are not wanting to gain weight using butter to make em with? it was suggested you do a this: Instead of butter, spread mayo evenly on one side-put that side down in pan (of course) and they said it spreads more evenly than the butter does and it tastes better cause of the egg in the mayo makeup. Hmmm, guess ill try that some time?
I heard that the calories don't count if everybody at your table eats the same thing.
I happen to love the grilled cheese sandwich but I try not to have more than three or four in a calendar year. For those needing to bulk up like Elvis Presley, you need to graduate to fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Heck, you can hang a lot more accessories on a size 48 belt than you can on a size 32 belt.
Sorry Ringo, but I could never deviate from one of my favorite sammiches. I may not live forever but when I go at least I'll know what a REAL grilled cheese sammich tastes like. If somethin' ain't broke don't fix it.![]()

No mayo for me on any sandwich.
Down here in S/W Missouri folks use it like we use ketchup & mustard in Chicago.
Mayo on grilled cheese, hamburgers, ham sandwich, fries you name it.
Good thing hot dogs aren't popular down here.
I'd lose my lunch seeing a dog with mayo being eaten.
WHAT !!!!! you mean to say there is ANOTHER WAY to make a grilled cheese ???????![]()
Anyone ever try to make a grilled cheese sandwich doing this?
I have used the OIT of a fork'd stick and open fire while hunting in the hills.
No Butter.....None Better
.
Never used mayo. But down south you would have to use Dukes. Grill a pimento cheese sandwich.
