Anyone have experience with Battery Assist Device?

Fantastic!! Thank you for all of the great info. I placed my order a few weeks before this whole craze broke out and now I am wishing I would have picked up some ammo that day....I can't find any at a reasonable price and refuse to panic buy at gouged prices. Guess I'll wait out the storm.

I always keep a minimal ample stock at hand for all my weapons. I'm not into the panic buying either. In time prices will drop and I'll stock more again. Just have to wait it out.

I think my lower is an AFM. I installed the BAD lever the day I picked up the rifle. It seems like a great idea and works well for dry firing. I hope to take it out to the range for the first time, within the next week. I intend to use my rifle for 3 gun, so I figured the lever would be a good idea.

My Colt is fantastic, but yours S&W's are too! That's why I'm here. More about the platform than the manufacturer for me. Hope ya don't mind. Also thinking of a S&W revolver so checking them out on this site as well.

I was shocked today. I caledl the LGS where I purchased my Del-Ton AR in mid Nov and asked if there were any more. They said they were sold out, no surprise there. But I asked what the last one out the door went for. It went or $1300.00 more than I paid for mine. Same gun, same store. I also saw a 25 round mag for the 15-22 go for $106.00 on Ebay. Times they are a changin'.

THAT I can do in my sleep (no "kool-aid" needed) along with many other Vets on the forum :o

How true. After forty-six years of not having an AR platform rifle around, my new 5.56 just fell into my hands. Every aspect seemed so natural, the whole manual of arms was second nature. Even to the field stripping of the gun, everything was as if I had just lain down the rifle yesterday, not back in 1970. When asked why I like the AR so much I answer because it's the easiest rifle to maintain in the world.(IMHO) Just like an old friend.

The M-16 was a PITA nightmare when I first "met one". We transistioned from the simple 7.62 M-14 to the "new, ultimate, weapon of the future" the 5.56 M-16. NOT ! But times change and things do improve. I will never own a Colt AR. BUT I do love my S&W M&P AR's. And you are right. I can still field strip my AR in seconds and know it inside and out just like old times and an old friend.

I got it put on last night. I like the feel and I can see where it will definitely help with keeping the rifle down range and ease of use. If I ever get my hands on some 223 I will let you know how it does at the range.

John aka JaPes, thanks for posting the pictures! I've been handling and shooting AR platforms in many configurations and in many diverse climates (courtesy of my generous and humble Uncle Sam) and didn't have the foggiest idea what a b.a.d. was! Granted my last tour in combat I carried a bolt gun but still... any who, thanks for clarifying. ~scott

A little late to this post.... sorry... but had to add my .02.

I have a Tactical Link battery assist lever, (similar to the Magpul BAD lever) and love it. No clearance problems. Seems as well made as the Magpul version. like being able to do everything with my index finger while keeping my strong hand on the grip.

I love it. It works well. I have one on my Sport and my BCM rifle.

Ya'll never cease to bring something new to my eyes. I have never heard of a BAD or seen one and I will say that is a very interesting piece of metal there. I don't foresee myself needing one but it's nice knowing that it's out there and fairly cheap to try out. I'm going to add this on my ever growing parts list!

I installed the Magpul B.a.d. Lever on my rifle. It did not work for me. When running the gun hard, My finger would slide the bolt closed when doing mag changes. It works for some and not for others.

Just buy one and take the 45 seconds it requires to install one try itnt ans see if u like it, i just put one on my 15T and its functions great

I had one when I shot cross the course High Power. I didn't really like it since it could be accidentally released when I did not need it. In the end I like the KISS system.

On the sport with the enlarged trigger guard there is more room than some of the rifles with the flat bottom trigger guards. The additional room makes it alot easier to use. but as has been said it works for some and not for others:D

I installed one of these on my bushmaster AR15 shorty and it works great. Well worth the money, super easy to install and to be honest I can't find any reason why I never bought one sooner. Its amazing how something so simple can be so awesome. Not a close up but you can see it on my gun and I'm sure you get the idea.

Does the B.A.D. do anything for Left-Hand shooters? I was shooting in competition a couple of weeks ago, and during the single-load slow-fire rounds I was thinking that there HAD to a better way to release the bolt than the standard control.

The B.A.D. doesn't look well suited for activation with the left trigger finger, and may get in the way of my left-side mag-release as you'd have to reach over it. Perhaps a shorter release extender, or a replacement release properly designed for activation with the left trigger finger is the solution, but does anyone make one?

Was looking at some pics of other's M&P 15s and noticed a few that had the Magpul BAD...anyone have any experience with these? Pros? Cons? Does it fit well on our guns? Thanks for the input!!

got one on my..m&p15-22 and on m&p 15 556...best thing you could do to your ar rifles...finger stay by the trigger to lock and release the slide...i love this stuff.

I not only have the magpul BAD on my M&P 15, but also installed it on 2 of my son's weapons !!
