Anyone shooting 41 mag factory loads?

I love my 41 mag, but am getting out of reloading (don't ask why). The prices for factory loads is blowing my mind ($2 a shot?). Does anyone have a recommendation for affordable 41's for plinking/range use? I'm not interested in full power loads.

I do not want appear to be insensitive but I think you just found out why you should stick to reloading your own! The .41 Mag is not an orphan but it seems to be way down on the ammo makers priority list to make and as you found out it's very expensive. I sorta think that inexpensive .41 Mag ammo might just be running with the Loch Ness Monster. After the brass has been fired once I'm loading my .41 Mags for around $2.75 a box using my home cast bullets, but even with store bought bullets the price will be way less than the new stuff. Well, I do wish you luck in the search!

I recently purchased a model 57-1 and I currently do not reload but once I can afford the initial cost of the equipment I hope to start rolling my own soon.

For ammo my shop ordered me a box but at $2 per round I passed and went to cabelas. They had cowboy loads (very dirty) but they were $35 per 50 and I also grabbed a box of Barnes-x hollow points for around $22 per 20. I'll probably buy another box of the cowboy loads if they have them again next time so I'll have 120 cases to start reloading.

I've most likely been somewhere at some point where there was factory 41 Magnum ammunition for sale, but I sure don't recall seeing it.

If you're dead set against reloading, ( I didn't ask why:D), then you probably need to either get a better paying job or give up shooting 41 Magnums.

I have had a 41 for at least 35 years and do not believe I have ever fired a factory load. If you were close, I would let you load some on my Dillon.

My brother got some .41 Magnum from Georgia Arms when he had a
Ruger Redhawk in .41.

It's was mid-range stuff, pretty accurate, and did the job, which was
plinking, mostly.

The .41 magnum has a very low priority in the production cycle because there is low demand for it. Even though it has its fans, there are far more popular calibers. I have always thought of it as the solution to a problem that never existed.

My local range carries 41 mag target loads from Atlanta Arms and also Georgia Arms at a reasonable price. lf you can get ammo delivered at home this would be the way to go. lf not, you should know a local gunshop owner who will order for you...
