S&W needs to circle back around and come up with something which rivals the Sig P365 for capacity-to-size-ration. If they drop the M&P Compact and the Shield into a blender they should be able to manage this.

S&W needs to do this. The Sig fans are kind of insufferable.

Seems Glock will have theirs at Shot next month.

Yes but why buy a Glock when you can have a Sig? The Sig semi auto pistols are just superior to Glocks and S&W striker fired firearms. That's of course based mostly on my opinion of them having shot many of all 3 brands. The only reason I can see S&W doing this is if their price point (like the Shield which I do own for this reason) is $100-$200 lower.

I love the way my 365 fits my hand. The new Glock wll be even fatter and heavier; might as well either stick to the 26 or go to the 19

INSUFFERABLE?

EVERYONE likes what they like! The 1911, 870, AR crowds aint afraid to state their opinions either. You don't want to rattle those cages. If you want S&W to make a gun MORE LIKE the 365, it must have something you like. :)

I've said so many times on this forum.

A Shield 9 that's easier to rack (Arthritis), a little less flippy, and holds 10+1 rounds with an option for 12+1. And Oh, almost as thin as it is now.

That's what Sig did, and that's the highest selling gun of 2018.
I'll be the first to buy it.

If you can live with “only” a .380 and two less rounds, S & W had already made your gun - it’s called the Shield EZ :).

Undoubtedly they have considered making a more 365-like gun, but in the current (somewhat depressed) gun market the development and startup costs with frame molds, magazines, etc., may prevent them from doing it. And Kel-Tec was first on the 10 round subcompact 9 mm market anyhow ;).

A fellow forum member I've met and whose opinion I respect as he has carried a gun for a living, recently switched to the SIG 365. He also bought one for his son. He is perfectly happy with the SIG. Based upon his opinion I'd get a SIG if I were currently in the market for a carry gun.

A swing and a miss.

The Sig 365 has mim, made in India, strikers and they break at a phenomenally alarming rate. It is an inferior weapon, in spades, to any Glock handgun.

Sig's best days are at least a decade behind them. Their reputation, or whats left of it, is being shredded almost daily with report after report of faulty and broken 365's that need to go back to the mothership for repairs.

And how about 320's that are unsafe and shooting officers in the leg when they undress at the end of their shift and drop their gun belt to the floor. Sig doesn't want to admit that they are not drop safe, so they just issue a "voluntary" upgrade program, instead of doing the honorable and professional thing, and issuing a full recall.

The Sig p365 is interesting, but still seems very hit and miss reliabilty and durabilty wise. Reliability is one thing that cannot be compromised with a defensive weapon. It's possible Sig overreached and simply made it too small for the cartridge. The laws of physics still apply. My 10 year old Glock 26 is a little larger than the P365, but it is tough as nails and always goes bang. Plus it can use the mags from my Glock 19 and 17's. Glock could have made the 26 smaller(I believe the kel-tec P11 may actually predate it), but I think there are good reasons why they didn't.

Is Glock REALLY going to release a model to compete with the P365 or are you guys just spreddin’ rumors?

Don’t see one reason why or how any of these jamomatic breakage prone cheaped out tiny autos are one iota better than a J-frame that will work every time.

Yea, but the KelTec sucks.

I am testing one out now and may post as to how badly it sucks, if at all. :)
I found it harsh to shoot, unreliable and poor quality with its fit and finish. There's a reason why its price point is close a High Point. I'm not a KelTec basher as I've never had a problem with the P3AT, 32 or the Sub2k 9mms. I just found multiple examples of the P11 (& PF9) to be subpar. YMMV
