Presuming that you're an AR fan, which of the guns do you prefer? You can argue and debate below but the poll will show predominance around this campfire. Maybe. ;)

DEPENDS on MANUFACTURE DATE

Bushmaster was my favorite 20 years ago , but now factory has moved from MAINE to another state and my gun dealer friends say quality has dropped.

I've owned 2 Colt 6920s, and now 2 Stag M4gery's, and the Stags have been just as reliable AND well built as the Colts.

And I say that as a somewhat dedicated Colt Fanboy, but it is what it is.

With that being said, the Colts hold value much better in resale than almost any other brand, rightly or wrongly.

Bushmaster as a brand ceased to exist with the breakup of Remington. The original Bushmaster factory in Maine is still up and running. They're now known as Windham Weaponry. Same folks making rifles.

I have some mix masters that I built up myself. I have factory Bushmasters, a S&W Sport II, along with a Colt SP1 and a what used to be 6721, which is now a SBR.

My favorite honestly is my Colt SP1, Bushmaster HBAR A2, and Bushmaster A2 M4 Carbine.

Mine is the only one I have. So it's my favorite. It's a frankengun. YHM upper on a Spike's stripped lower with basic parts kit. I'm not high speed low drag. I'm snail speed with my *** draggin'. So, it works for me.

I bought three Colt ARs several years ago. They've been fired extensively, function perfectly, and are accurate. Copies may work as well, but Colts retain value better than copies and are more desirable to potential buyers should it become necessary to sell or trade. Spend a little more and get the original. It's worth it.

I have owned quite a few AR-15's over the years, mostly Colt or Bushmaster in the past. A few years ago, I won a Rock River LAR-15 in a Texas State Rifle Association fund raising raffle. I wouldn't sell it for forty times what I have in it... $50.00 I like it that much! :)

In addition to my Colts, S&W, and ArmaLites I have a really nice Bravo Co. Mfg. BCM4, just about the most accurate AR I own. They're all fun to shoot though (even my M&P15-22's).

There are many good ARs out there and it would be hard to tell any real difference between most of them, but Colt is synonymous with ARs. That said, I have ARs from Aero Precision, Colt, Stag, DPMS, Bushmaster, Diamondback and a piston gun from Rock River Arms. I have em chambered in 5.56/.223, 300AAC and 9mm. They're all reliable.

I only have one factory rifle, an Adams Arms small frame AR10. The machining is like no other rifle I own, everything is super smooth and polished. I usually build my rifles so I'm far from an expert, but Adams Arms gets my semi-educated vote.
