Did you eventually get a real legal divorce ??? Are the guns considered hot or not....Stolen guns never get off the list unless recovered...Most have been some kind of gal......She goes to gun shows with guy number three now and got a restraining order against you..Utah sounds more like something you would experience in the Republic of California...Good Luck....If guns are reported stolen they stay that way until recovered.......We had a gun supplier in the general area that had a big time burglary of numerous guns in, I think it was the late 60's or early 70...Now and again one turns up, I heard one was recovered in Hawaii a couple of years ago due to a gun check..I think the insurance carrier got the recovered gun, as they had paid the store originally..

That was in california back in 1986. No, I never had them relisted as hot. With the time involved as I stated on the prior post by the time the divorice was finalized after the guns were stolen was well over a year. She ran off about a week before Christmas of 85 and when I tore the safe apart was about august of 86. I was in a child custody battle, (I lost and run out of money). By that time I weighed things out, knew the guns were sold by then and didnt want to have my daughters mother jailed. In retrospect I dont think it would have made things much different than they have already turned out but thats another story. I have occasionaly both here and on the colt site listed the serial numbers and pictures of the guns to see what happens. Nothing has happened. I am willing to bet that by doing it several people or more are sitting on a gun or two sweating. Those guns would have been sold to a collector, not a thug on the street as all were fine collector guns and my ex ran my tables at gun shows for over a year prior to our split and a year after at least. Here is a couple more besides the murphy colt.
Remington Derringer 414

S&W DA #15856

Colt Lighting #49038

Colt DA 1878 in .45 colt # 29872

Luger #2401. Forgot by what mfg.

Also lost a colt SAA in 4 3/4" in .38 win (38/40) serial #273274 I have no picture of that one.

Geezus, I dont know how I would react if so much from my colletion were pinched?

Dang it Ringo, yer KILLIN' me. It will be at least 3 nights before I'm able to get to sleep without rackin' my brain to figure a way to get one those. I nearly stopped breathing when I saw that pic!!!

It didnt work for Byron Smith and we both went through similar, I can relate to him. Thats why I said on another thread that there but for the grace of God go`s me. In fact I tried a few dirty tricks myself later and God thwarted me every time.

FeralMerril that is a heartbreaking story. Very depressing. You have my sincere sympathy.

But you know, I believe that sometimes miracles do occur. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed that some how, some way, some time, things will roll around your way and that revolver will find it's way back into your life. I know, I know, but stuff like that does happen once in a while. The fact that you didn't hunt her down and kill her proves that you are a good man and you deserve to have this little miracle happen for you.

And even if it never happens it would be a fun thing to think about now and then, eh? Good luck in the future. I hope you'll let us know when it turns up. ;)

Ive been told im a negative influence a time or two. I got that from my Sister when she claimed I taught my Nephew Jeremy-his first curse word--which wasn't me--he got it from being with my Dads work crew when shingling some house and one of the men smashed his thumb with a hammer--cussing like a Sailor with his yearly shore leave cancelled. :D

Add my sympathies and hopes too in the return of the Audie Murphy pistol. And if anyone has any left over? please let me borrow it. I want my Nov 41 made Walther P-38 back. Its been missing since Jan 6th 2000.

Disregard-stupid filters not allowing me to post the two images of Audie and his Medals like I wanted. Grr........

Like all of us we have other and bigger problems in our lives than guns. It isnt like it was THE very gun he used to earn his medals. He probley was like us all and bought guns that turned him on, put em in a sock and stuffed them in a safe and never shot them. The Luger hurts worse. My uncle eldon also was highly decorated. He was my mothers only and younger brother. He never married and he and I were close, right next to my dad. He lived with us when he came home from the war. I was 4 or 5 but remember it like yesterday. I seen him dropped off in front of our store for the first time and my mother and aunt going nuts. We fished and hunted together a year before he died he came and lived with me for a few months. He ran a neat junk yard and I could of had anything I wanted. He had a heart attack in 72, open heart surgery and a stroke on the table. It affected him mentally and he often talked suicide. The very last time I seen him alive we were sitting in his garage. He said your dad took all my guns away from me. He reached in a tire and pulled out a rag wrapped package. It was the luger in its holster. He said here is one he didnt get. Shes yours! I miss that one more than murphys. Uncle eldon had six bronze stars, a silver star and two purple hearts. Outside of a few other momentos that was all I had left. He did have a thing about cutting off german epilets etc and I have a sack of them and a german pocket watch and a russian pocket watch. I asked him how did you get the russian watch? He just laughed and said he took it off a russian soldier. Said hell, he had on a strange uniform and I thought maybe he was a jap! He was in the 82nd attached to gliders and in one incident only he and one more out of 14 on his glider lived. He also was first in to one of those Nazi death camps and told me first hand about the starving prisoners and ovens. Our local paper had a nice lead article write up on him featured when all the boys were returning. I have that. Sorry for the sidetrack again. The picture was when he was overseas that he sent my mother.

My sypmathies on this! 'Bout how much longer for you get your 'puter fixed or get a new one. I'm startin' to suffer from "image withdrawl"? ;)

Many thanks. My computer is too far gone to fix, battery is dead, processer is dead, and that's just what im aware of. Im hoping that some stuff I have to relist to ell, will be paid for this time and im hoping in the next month or two at the latest-to be up and running again with a new computer. ;-)) Im eying a new Acer for sale at WM.

If you can post photos of those Epilets (Shoulderboards) please do so. I can tell you what branches of service and units they formerly belonged to :-)) and possible values too. I collect these things (not lately) so am very familiar with them.:)

I would say I dont like commemratives but I do have two of them. I bought both because they were cheap at the time. One is a texas wagon trail 544 S&W in 5" .44-40 and the other a Uberti Single action copy of General George S Pattons silver plated and engraved colt. I think in some cases you can actualy buy a much fancier gun for less than the identical model like some colt single actions and winchester levers in standard mode. Better wood, higher polish, engraving etc. I still havent shot either one but have the same or similar guns that I do, so why?

Those are beauties to say the least. Id love aPatton commemorative--either a SSA or aGI .45.
