Avg. Round count

I try to get to the sportmans club twice a week, the membership fee is $35 a year for the family, it about 15 minutes from the house. I normally take two hand guns, a revolver and a semi auto. 38 and a 45ACP. The .38 I will shoot 100 rounds the 45Acp 50 to a 100 rounds. The club has a out door rifle and pistol range and indoor pistol range, 22lr to 45 CAL.

I have recently started shooting rifles, a M-4, Mini 14, Ruger Gunsite carbine in 5.56 and the 308 Win. So this past couple weeks has been a learning curve reloading the 308 Win. The used brass I bought was 7.62X51 fired in a full auto firearm. getting the brass resized and trimmed and the primer pocket rimmed has been a test in its self. (I have 90 rounds to break back down because they don't chamber). the 5.56 rifles I normally shot 100-150 rounds.

When I take out my Hammerli free pistol I nonally don't shoot more than about 30 rounds of 22 LR. More than that and I'm getting the shakes so bad I can't hit anything.

I also get the shakes after about 50 rounds in .45. I was thinking it was something called 'essential tremor' but discounted it after some thought. I think it's due to the recoil and the effects on the nervous system. I more or less solved it by shooting lesser calibers first and then moving up to the 45. My average range trip covers between 150 and 200 rounds.

I could not begin to guess. I am lucky enough to have two ranges on my property. Right off my driveway is my handgun plinking range. Sometimes when I am coming home, I will stop near the range and fire whatever rounds I am carrying in my current carry gun.

So sometimes, my "trip to the range" consists of just five rounds fired....

..... Since I do shoot very often, if I had to give a rough estimate I would say 50 rounds. I will just grab a box and walk to the range.

I hope to have some land like that so I can have a similar setup soon! In a perfect world I'd have more of a Hickock45 setup; but wouldn't we all.

And you're going to invite me over.... when?? :D

I don't get to the range often enough......

I don't get to shoot enough, so when I go I make it count. At the outdoor range by myself I shoot hundred or so semi auto, 100 or so revolvers cartridges, about 30 rifle and and dozen shotgun shells or so. When I go to the indoor range I only take the handguns, though I'm threatening to use their indoor rifle range. With the loads I'm making now I can shoot about 50 rifle shots easy, like using a .22.

When I take other people I take a good bit more with me. 2-3 hours usually wears me out if I'm setting 100 yard rifle targets.

Anyway, when I leave my load is MUCH lighter. I couldn't shoot anywhere near this amount if I didn't reload.

I'd say I usually average 200-300 rounds. Usually two calibers per range trip split between 3-5 guns. I can't stand cleaning any more than that!
