BASED ON: How long will you wait for $10/box 9mm?

I saw a link to the norma website and they are selling 9mm for $16 or $17 per box with free shipping... about what reloading costs with $.014 primers.

Robert

$15.99 for 115gr FMJ.

I bought a case, with tax it came to $169.46

I can't buy a box of 9mm around here for $16.95, and that loading is good ammo.

A case of 9mm is generally 1k rds, not 500. So 'a case' of the Norma would be $340, a price that is pretty easily beaten right now. I see Belom 124gr is $299 + shipping.

I'm a bit concerned about the Norma, since they just issued a recall (it was Ruag, noting both Geco and Norma). You should check your lot numbers

For those who SWORE up and down that 9mm would NEVER be less than $15 a 50 round box EVER AGAIN, here you go....
Just a moment...
$14 a box - 28 cents a round for brass-cased - and no limit.
Betcha it goes even lower.

I was at Scheels a few weeks back and the ammo shelves were stocked to the point where it makes me wonder what the weight limit is on them. I bet on Black Friday stores will be running specials in the $10 range but with a limit of 1 or 2 boxes in order to get customers in the doors.

I know of 1 online vendor selling 9mm buy 4 get 5th free. Works out to $12 for 50, or $240 for a case.

My local shop is also selling Blazer brass cased 115 and 124 grain ammo, both at $19.99 per box of 50. That's actually $1 more than it was about 6 months ago. There are a couple of things to remember. First, shops will try their best to sell at whatever they paid plus markup and the last thing they will do is drop the price below cost. Second, we are experiencing inflation like we did in 1979-1980, so I would expect prices to increase, not drop back to pre-panicdemic levels.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you'll never see $10 /bx 9mm again . MAYBE some kind of super duper loss leader special sale but not as a regular everyday price . I hope I'm wrong .

$10/50 9mm has gone the way of the $25k new 1500 pick-up (unless you have a business and are allowed to buy a work truck) and the $11k new commuter car, so we have little choice but to grit our teeth and move on.

My LGS sent out an email yesterday that they were selling PMC 9mm ammo for $13.99/50. The prices are stabilizing to where the prices are less about gouging and more about increases because of the current out-of-control inflation.

Maybe for 25 rd. ct., shrinkage, like a lot of stuff.
Norma is like 14.50 on sale

Actually less than $3 a box 9mm ammo falls out the right side of my Dillon everytime I use it.
LOL, yeah, maybe - until you have to buy primers at current prices.
You can't load anything for 6 cents a round when primers are 8 or 10 cents apiece.
FWIW, I have 50k-60k of primers that I paid 2 - 3 cents apiece for, so I can probably match your 6 cents a round - at least until my NOS supplies are depleted.

FWIW, ammo manufacturers are paying 4-5 cents a piece for primers made in Russia and other foreign countries. Manufacturers who don’t already make their own primers are looking to start. Prices may drop a little due to current market dynamics, but they won’t drop that much.
