Battery Powered Lawn mowers.

When I lived over in Washington a few guys had goats They would hire out to clear blackberries. If they will clear out blackberries a lawn a would be easy, and would trim your shrubbery way back, walk on your car and anything else that wasn't 5' straight up, chew up anything they decides to chew on. One of my relative's wife got some goats for him to complain about. The cute little dimples all over the top of his truck are his favorite thing about them. LOL If he parks it with the front wheels turned out they clime on the part of the wheel sticking out to get on the hood and mosey around from there

Recently picked up a Lowe's Kobalt push mower because it uses the same battery as my weedeater, pole saw, etc. I use it to mow close to the house because my 40 year old Kubota G6200 isn't very nimble. I have only used it twice so far, but am happy with it.

Bought my daughter a Kobalt battery mover when she was single. Lasted about 4 years. Then the batteries wouldn't take a charge anymore. New batteries would cost about 7/8's the cost of a new mower. So junked it. Problem solved.......She got married and husband cuts the grass.

My Ego self propelled is coming up on its 4th "birthday." Still going strong. Never a problem so far. Battery charges quickly, and holds more than enough charge to do my yard (only about 1/8 acre). I liked it so much I bought the string trimmer, blower, and edger to match. They're all great.

Contrary to what some have said, it has plenty of power for long grass and weeds. The only downside I see is that replacement batteries are expensive when the time comes that they are needed, and at the age of mine I imagine that time's coming within the next year or two. The battery is nearly as much as a new mower (with battery and charger). There are "generic" batteries available on amazon for quite a bit less, but who knows whether they'll hold up.

I may have to do like I did with my DeWalt drill. I bought new drill with 2 batteries (on sale) for less than the cost of 2 replacement batteries for the old one.

I have a Stihl electric since 2021 year-end sale. It came with 2 of the high capacity batteries and a rapid charger. It is self-propelled but light enough to push most of my 1 acre. One battery lasts long enough to mow the yard even while using the self-propelled feature, while bagging. Like my Stihl gasoline two stroke trimmers, chainsaws and blowers, it has been flawless.
You get what you pay for.

I have the EGO, also, in self-propelled mower. Battery lasts for quite a long time and recharges pretty quick. Very easy to put into storage position, and the deck raises & lowers very easily. A marvel of engineering. And it has headlights for my wife 'cause at the midnight hour she wants mower, mower, mower! (Sorry!)

I see some neighbors with them and find them a bit emasculating. I’m a gasoline/combustion kind of guy…. ;).

We were at the table having breakfast Saturday morning and my neighbor was mowing with his electric mower. I told my wife and kids that it just didn’t seem right without the sound. So, I took out my phone and found an audio clip of lawnmower sound. Turned up the volume and put it on the table while we ate. They laughed, and we enjoyed a nice, normal Saturday morning breakfast…

If you have one and like it, I’m happy for you, but they’re not for me.

Interesting technology. Unfortunately this comes just about 7 years late for us.

When we retired we purchased a maintenance-free "patio home", one of 20 homes around a private cul-de-sac managed by a HOA. All exterior maintenance is provided. Lawn care, snow removal, shrubs, trees, aerating, fertilizing, pest control as needed. Outside my front door I don't have to lift a finger for anything.

The nice young couple who purchased our old house offered full price and closed in under 30 days with a pre-approved loan. It was their first family home so we left the lawn mower, edger, weed whacker, shovels, rakes, hoses, sprinklers, everything.

Ugly snowy day, I can enjoy my coffee while the contract crew plows and shovels. Miserable hot summer day, I can sip a beer while watching the young folks mowing and trimming. Our little HOA neighborhood always looks like a well-maintained private park should look.

I also took off my wrist watch when I retired and haven't used it ever since.

Nice lawn mower! I like it a lot, especially when I don't have to use it ever again.

Every battery-operated hand tool or lawn tool has crapped out on me long before it earned its keep. Batteries don't last and the manufacturers keep "upgrading" and obsoleting the batteries as fast as they can. I'll never buy another battery-powered tool.

Winterizing a gas-powered mower simply means running it out of gas. Change the oil one a year and done. I bought my Murray lawn tractor in 2004 and it still going strong with weekly use.

My second son's first home and he bought the Kobalt at Lowe's with a Welcome Wagon gift card. The mower comes with 1 High Capacity Battery, The matching Trimmer and hedge clippers have 1 battery each that together equal the HC battery. His normal City lot take about 35-40 minutes to mow and is easily done on the main battery. (If there is a quick charger, He doesn't have it.

I had gone to a Ryobi 40V trimmer, before I sold the farm house. I gave most of the yard tool to my friends, And now live a life of ease as the Condo Association takes care all yard work.

Hubby's sentiment exactly.

I'm reluctant to buy an electric lawn mower. I'm still using a high wheeled Craftsman push mower that I bought in 1998. It still starts first pull and runs great. Annual maintenance is all that's needed.

Residences and Associations should never be said in the same sentence. I'd rather live in a prison.

We have our share of Rules Nazis. Since I've have lived in Apartment Development/management family since I was 12, I know the laws and like to torment them with the threat of Class Action Law Suites! The Nazis get ousted in the next trustee's election anyway!

i ran into a great deal so i bought a 60v greenworks battery snowblower 2.5 years ago.
thinking i might need more than the 1 big battery that came with it i ended up replacing my corded hedge trimmer with a greenworks trimmer then bought a blower and string trimmer kit so i then had 3 batteries.

everything worked fine so i ended up buying the 60v greenworks mower and have been happy with it.

i'm all in now with greenworks 60v, the above tools plus their chainsaw, edger, and power inverters.

Another recommendation for EGO equipment. High quality/high performance. For an electric mower ( I don't have one, but own their blower and trimmer ) in the intended lawn work, the EGO thumbs up.
