You know, when lightning strikes the ground, similar things can be found. The high voltage and heat just melt sand as the current seeks its ground. They dig them up on sand dunes all the time. There's even a name for it, but I forget what it is. Then instead of a durable aluminum tree you get it made from "glass".
I guess I need to start looking for a suitable donor ant hill. I'm pretty sure I've got a spare mag wheel out in the garage. Anybody know how to heat it? The cooker needs to be portable because you can't move liquid aluminum very far. I'm guessing the boy holding the melting pan was pretty darn strong. Picking it up is one thing, holding it steady while you make a nice, measured pour is something else.
Has anyone considered how much beer it took to think this all up, and then to do it?
