Been busy as a beaver...

That is some good wood! I am almost ready, need 1/4 cord more fir to go with all my oak and maple. Being ready for winter is a good feeling.

I would die for some of that oak. All I got here is pine. (: But there is 10 cords split and stacked to be sure I have enough for the new garage/shop and stove plus the house. The new stove is yet to be installed, but getting close.

Eric300 - How many trees does that wood represent ? Just curious. There is no heat that feels as good as a wood or coal stove. I remember my grandmothers house was heated by a coal stove. The heat would just put you to sleep after working outside in the cold.

We felled 3 oak trees 2 summers ago behind my buddy's house that made that load. They were about 40' tall. Had them bucked up and stacked behind my house seasoning until I got to splitting them just a few weeks ago. Being 63, I can't do this **** 2-4 days in a row. I need at least a 2 day break. LOL I have another pile of oak already bucked up and waiting for me at his house to pick it up sometime next week. Then next weekend we're felling 4 more oak trees behind his house. If I don't stroke-out I should be set for the next few winters! :D

That reminds me....I still gotta get up on the house & barn roofs with my chimney brush and run it down the stove pipes a few times. I have 2 Grizzly wood burners. 1 in the barn and 1 in the house. Also, a fire place in the house, but I haven't used that in years.

How about a closer look at that deer. Is it a 12 pointer ?

I hear you on the extending of the recovery period. I am 61 and I can get one day of labor and one round of golf a weekend.

I have to go back to work to get some rest !

That bow range in the barn is sweet. I can't shoot a compound anymore. Had a bad collar bone break when I was a kid and it is just too painful now. I am a crossbow guy now. Doing final stand prep next weekend.

I see the A. Fuentes cigar. Which one is it?

858...my 'go to' cigar. :D

It is a 12 point, albeit a small one. But heck, it was still a 12 so I had to run an arrow through it. :D
