Before you buy that set of JP Yellow springs ...

Well here is what I did. I shot my AR15-22 PC bone stock in the 2011 Ruger Rimfire World Championships in August. Trigger was kind of heavy to me, lots more than my Rem 597 with the 2# Jard in it. Ordered and installed a set of JP "yellows" and the trigger was night and day better. Good enough to win a couple of Steel Challenge Carbine matches and fast enough so that only 1 person in the match with a pistol posted a faster overall time. Shot that for a good while. however I found that once I got really good with it I could not get the PC's RRA trigger to reset as fast as I wanted it to shoot. So I went the max route and switched to a Geissele Super 3 Gun trigger (the same one going in my 3-gun AR), BUT I put it in with the JP springs because I figured a .22 did not need to hit the hammer as hard as a .223. I figured if it had issues I could always put the Geissele hammer spring back in. WOW did that fix the issue!

Before you buy that set of JP Yellow

I don't beleive what I'm reading! Just about every post on here has positive comments about the performance of the 15-22 after the JP yellow springs were installed! I did this install back in the summer of 2011 and when I went to the range I had so many miss-fires that when I got home I tore the yellow springs out & put the orginals back in. Now after reading through these posts I was informed that I should have just changed out the trigger spring! ***! do I have a "Freak of Nature" 15-22? Just about everyone on this thread has had good results with the install of the JP yellow springs. Well I'm going to give it one more go, I replaced just the trigger & disconnector springs over the weekend & will head to the range on Tues. (with fingers crossed)

I've used the J-Ps in my 2 15-22s and my Sporter with zero issues. With a little light polishing, greasing with moly grease, and the crazy insane gonna blow my face off set screw mod(do NOT do this mod as it's inherently un-safe)I have some pretty nice FCGs.
One thing that I've read about is cutting off the hammer where it curves back to reduce mass and enhance firing pin action and reliability. Called "bobbing" the hammer.
To each their own. Do not mod the FCG unless you are well versed in the operation of a AR-15 FCG.

Bill springfield suggested to me for my miss fires and failure to fires, to replace the the jp yellow HAMMER spring with the original stock spring, not the trigger spring.....he just told me this today so i havent had a chance to fire it with a stock hammer spring and jp yellow trigger spring yet....however i can report 550 rounds with no misfires or any problems at all with the stock trigger and both jp yellow springs installed...but now bill lightened the trigger and i went out shooting today. with both yellows installed and a lightened trigger my FTFs and miss fires were almost unbearable i had so many

I finally had a chance to go shooting since I switched springs. Out of 170 rounds I had two failures to fire, where I have had none in the previous 1k+. Time will tell.

I must say than I feel little difference in the trigger pull. I am guessing those that have talked about a big difference have had 7+ pound triggers, so their TP has been cut by much more than mine. As I said initially, a one pound drop from five and a half was hardly worth the effort.

Before you buy that set of JP Yellow

I took the advise of one of the forum members (cal h) and just replaced the trigger spring with the JP yellow one, however I also went one step further and used the JP yellow disconnector spring. I went to the range on Tues. and shot 170 flawless rds. (every rd. went bang) and the trigger pull was fantastic! :D . Now I get to work on another probem, bolt will not hold open on last rd. (4 out of 6 mags) this is the first time that I have had this problem, so I guess it's back to searching the threads for a solution. :(
