Big Explosion in Beirut.

I can't imagine what kind of force that shock wave created. And the speed at which it moved in those videos was tremendous. I forget which post had a link to a satellite image of the harbor, but you can clearly see that a ship across the harbor was turned over on its side!

The huge number of building completely flatted is astonishing. It appears that every window in the city was blown out as a result of that shock wave. It's hard for me to comprehend that amount of force over such a great distance.

Yes, and the blast would turn that window glass into a giant "shotgun"!!
I would guess that the same thing would happen to the concrete rubble, and other debris. Probably turns that concrete into course sand.

The negative phase of the blast is going to do some damage, too, especially with a blast that big.
