Breakfast for dinner

my dinner tonight = a full English breakfast........beans, bangers, chips, white & black pudding, eggs, English bacon, grilled tomato...... and a few pints......

Sounds delicious.

Although sometimes, a simple Irish breakfast will do: black coffee and a shot of Jameson's ... :D

My granddaughter loves it when we have breakfast for dinner.

Bacon, German pancakes, scrambled eggs, orange juice and milk.

She thinks it's a real treat.

For me it's biscuits and gravy. Cracker Barrel and The Dixie Pig at least one day a week, doesn't matter what meal. A good homemade biscuit is hard to beat. Sausage gravy made in a cast iron skillet...now that's the ticket.

Pork, must have pork, with cacklefruit and cow juice. I've thought about it and when I was growing up, I never heard of biscuits and gravy until I saw it on restaurant menus. My Mother was a great country cook, but we always had biscuits with butter and jelly, jam, or preserves, usually home made since we had a garden, plus apple, peach, pear and fig trees. I've wondered about that, and I think it may have been because of how poor my Mother's family was when she was a child. Some bread and gravy made from fat, flour, and water would be a meal for them. I think those hard times were left in the past, and the luxury of jellies and butter were a blessing and easily afforded. Now we always had gravy with fried chicken....
