Bud's Gun Shop

I have been using Bud's for about 7 years or so. Never a problem. I do dislike it when I give him my bank account number for a "cash" payment and it takes a week to "clear"....other that that nit I'm happy

That's on the banks themselves. We have enough in our accounts to cover transactions so they show as pending. Many banks put holds on transfers until they clear. A transaction can be stopped while in the pending phase, so I understand Bud's reservation.

Or buy from someone else. A billion transactions a day are managed by businesses. If Buds can't, go elsewhere.

There are things to have patience with. Clearing transactions isn't one of them.

Then I would suggest buying from someone else also. That is the great thing about America, what you have a problem with is OK. The fact that I don't have the same problem is also OK.

Each individual should decide for themselves what is or is not acceptable. It is not for me to lose any sleep over it. I would suggest most people don't either.

Some body in CS needs to go back to flipping burgers. Yesterday they said my order had not shipped. Today it arrived and 2 hours later I got a shipping notice and tracking number. Where do they find these people?

Turns out the problem was not shipping on time it was nobody knowing what was going on. CS should be able to give you correct and up to date information. That is what they are paid to do. The whole time my order was on it's way nobody knew it had been shipped.

Two months ago Buds was one of the very few dealers who had a Sig P210A Target in stock, and at a reasonable price to boot. It was in my hands ten days after ordering, so all is good in my eyes. I've also had good luck with Kentucky Guns.

I have bought one gun from Bud's at the recommendation of my local gun shop. The owner said Bud's sold it for less than he (local shop) could buy it. No problem with Bud's.

Buds is a broker. IF they don't have the gun in stock, they have a network of other suppliers they turn to. I have bought guns from Buds that have shipped from Indiana, Louisiana, Colorado, and Ohio. Buds is in Kentucky. I once had an order, never got a shipping email, went to my Buds account, and there in my info was a tracking number. When I tracked it, it had already been delivered to my FFL. It was one of the guns that didn't come directly from Buds. I doubt they have any control over that.

Same thing here in Pensacola, I always ask if they price match with Buds, all so far have declined, most aren't within $100, I would do that to buy local but no takers.

Not only that, but a couple dealers I use here in Pensacola have allowed their stock levels to decline quite a bit because the overall sales conditions are perceived to be negative. They say they will increase their inventory investment when sales improve.

I don't believe that I follow their logic.

It's a balancing act. Inventory is expensive and mark up on guns is tiny. No gun store would stay in business long if they only sold guns. Inventory is hugely expensive and if the gun doesn't sell, that's just lost revenue.

People want the local places to have a huge inventory. That's understandable from a buyer perspective, you want a lot of choices to look at. That's a lot of out-of-pocket expense for a small store.

What's worse is people come into the small store to handle the gun, then they go buy it on line. Then they get upset when the local place doesn't have it for them to fondle and not buy.

If I ran a local gun store, I wouldn't carry any new inventory. Just buy it on line and have it shipped to the store. It's a win win. The store doesn't have to have a ton of money sunk into inventory and the customer gets what they want. Then, if they didn't like the gun, I'd offer to sell it on consignment. This way, the store doesn't have to match any on line price because they get it anyway.

I have found it very easy to buy from Buds. I drive to the store, Fondle anything I take a fancy to. Fill out paperwork walk out.

No tracking no worries about how or when it will be shipped.

EASY PEASY.

Now after thinking about it I feel the same way about Cabelas also. Walk in buy what you want and walk out.

Again EASY PEASY

I've bought about a half dozen guns from Bud's, 3 police trade ins, and 3 new. Might be 4 new, but I have nothing bad to say about them. The longest wait I had was 5 days, and one gun came in barely over 24 hours after I ordered it. The tracking was always accurate, unlike last week when I bought a new 12V cordless drill. I checked online and the store sight said the drill hadn't shipped yet, but the bit set I ordered did, so I was kind of shocked when I opened the door to go to the store and there were two huge boxes and a padded envelope in front of my door. Inside the padded envelope was the bit set, that came from Atlanta, I think, And in each of the two huge boxes were two Bosch L-boxxes, one that had the drill in it, and one empty one. There was room for 4 of them in each box. Yes, they both came from the same place as a two piece shipment. Odd.

Cabela's in Olympia/Tumwater takes about 3 hours IF YOU CAN GET ANYONE TO STOP their BSing LONG ENOUGH TO HELP YOU. AND UNLESS THERE IS A PRETTY GIRL IN LINE (in front or in back of you==she'll get waited on first).

Don't buy there any more!

I don't know and don't really care whose "problem" is may be - just an observation that when I give a merchant my bank routing number and account number all he has to do (I always thought) was just make a withdrawal. It isn't a big thing - there are many things in life I don't understand. I just pointed it out to the OP request for information ref Bud's.

Two transactions both at a very good price, they sit on it for a week before shipping even though I did a cash transfer. Still very pleased with them.

One must remember that many credit cards are not really credit cards but bank cards that draw directly from your bank account. If your bank account does not have enough money the charge can be refused. I am also not sure that merchant to bank transactions are treated the same as bank to bank transfers so that might cause a delay as well.

If waiting a week to get your transaction cleared bugs you, order it a week earlier and then you will get it when you wanted it.

My experience using the card which is a credit/debit card. Credit SHOULD take only a few hours longer to clear than debit. People use it all the time where im at when going through my line. I use credit all the time when the machine allows it? which is not 100% of the time for some strange reason? Cards should NOT take days-unless there is some other problem? I do hundreds of card transactions a day-so that is what happens in my area-even with out-of-State-ers-and those who forget or lost their cards and who have to look their accounts up by SSN or other ways. I used credit when I bought mine from Bud's and I asked them to call me back when it cleared. They did-and it cleared in about 30 minutes and they had forwarned me it might take a day-which I was OK with.

Perhaps because I am older I am a little more patient than others.
There is one thing that I have learned through my years on the planet, when you buy something and want it now, it may be the only transaction you have going on. The seller on the other hand may be dealing with hundreds of sales and unfortunately yours isn't the most important at any given time. Sellers take days off, have employees take days off, have personal issues crop up, experience mail delays etc. etc. Sometimes they just make mistakes and delays happen.

I can understand getting upset if your item is delayed a couple of weeks or more but a week to me isn't really that earth shattering. Take a breath and relax, you'll live longer....;)

I agree. Im 50-but still want it instantly but fully know it'll take time to get it. In my case-it took a couple of weeks because I had it shipped to a ""relative"" who is a FFL, who brought it to the next gun show here and I just simply picked it up (after they tested it to see if it worked? and boy did they enjoy testing a few hundred rounds through it):D which was ok by me-as I didnt have to pay them a penny for the shipped rifle.

They're good to go. I did have a problem once with an order for a Remington 1100 rifled barrel for my Tac 4. The way Remington packaged and labled it as 1100 by the bar code, and in small letters it said 1187 which won't work. One phone call and some calls to Remington by them and they sent me an exchange. Totally understandable mistake. Bought a lot fo ammo from them too.
