The factory stock on my 15t has an aweful lot of wiggle to it. Enough that I'm afraid it may be introducing some wiggle particularly when shooting offhand. First, is it fairly normal and second, do you think a fairly basic magpul aftermarket stock would provide a tighter fit or should I save for one of the nicer ones?

I have the Magpul ACS-L on mine and couldn't be happier! It has the extra lever that clamps the stock tightly to the buffer tube and a super nice cheek piece. Less than $100.00!

+1 on the CTR, I have put them on two rifles, there are some nicer buttstocks out there but the CTR is a good solid dependable stock and wont break the bank. When you order one make sure you get one for a mil-spec tube because unless S&W has gone to commercial tubes they use a mil-spec size tube.

Will that compartment on the acs hold a bore snake? I like the lighter weight and lower price on the ctr but might be worth the .2 lbs and $20 if I can get some xtra practical use out of it. I can fit a small bottle of lube in the magpul grip I put on so room for a snake would be handy for camping/hunting trips.

If you're looking for storage, look at the STR also. Similar to the CTR but with storage. As far as weight, it's noticeable. I use the STR on my scoped rifle but a MOE (CTR without the friction lock and QD attachment) on my lighter build for off hand shooting. Adding a bore snake and CLP our your lube of choice would just continue to add weight.

+1 on the ACS-L. Highly recommended. Love the checkweld over standard & CTR stock, but dont need the massive battery tubes of STR.

Have a standard MOE carbine stock on mine with know such wobble what so ever. Added a piece of Velcro cloth with the sticky backside, down through the inside of the the guide slot on the on the stock. This tightened up the play immensely. Can not take the credit for that idea. Seen that on the forum some time ago. :)

I run the VLTOR Modstock on my M4.

Couldn't be happier with it. The two removable storage tubes are filled with CR 123 batteries for my Eotech. You can find them from time-to-time on-line at very good prices.

You may wish to check Bravo Company USA. They have clearance sales at times and their service is outstanding.

I use a TI-7 stock and LOVE it. Very comfy cheek weld, lots of storage, and no wobble. Great value, too....about $90.

I plan on putting a Magpul STR on my 15T. I need to find a single point sling mount and sling to go with it.
