can you recommend a belt for field or CC carry?

I haven't tried a Simply Rugged belt, but I can recommend The Beltman.
I understand he as a backlog and it may take a few weeks, but he makes good stuff.
I don't want to take away from SR, I have one of his holsters and am tickled pink with it.. I would not hesitate to order from him..In fact I have been going to order one for N frames and just haven't done it.

I have owned 3 of Jim Speidels(aka The Beltman)belts for the last 5 years and they have all held up wonderfully. They're double thick, extra stiff, and very attractive belts. What I especially like about them is that they don't look like "gun" belts. They look like excellent dress belts. I have carried everything from a glock 26 to a full size 1911 or Smith and Wesson 29 with no problem. You can choose from 1/4,1 1/2 or 1 3/4 in. widths and prices start at $79.95. You might want to give the beltman serious consideration.

Years ago I used to wear the Bianchi Ranger belt. That was the best belt I have ever had. Never used it for holster carry, but it had the strength, stiffness and firmness to carry a holster very well.

++! On "The Belt Man" I have never run into better customer service.. I just happened to place an order for two " Dress" type belts on SUNDAY..via his web site... two hours later he called me just to check on the color and size..I'm still amazed both by his products and service..

Gotta agree with many of the above. I wear a Beltman every day. If you get the tapered option, from the front it will look like a standard belt. You won't need to add the extra internal stiffeners unless you're carrying a honkin' big and heavy hogleg.

I buy plain workbelts with real brass buckles from Tractor Supply Company (TSC)store here in Lafayette, TN. They are hand made by Mennonite harness makers (Tackers) up the road and hold up for years. No tooling or fancy stuff just good tanned leather and solid brass. They only come in two colors, black and a reddish brown and no designs or "pretty stuff." I hook a pair of Perry suspenders to them and they really do the job of supporting everything, pocket carry or belt carry.

+100 on the Wilderness belt. I wore one in Afghanistan for several years and it's still going strong.

I have the Wilderness Frequent Flyer belt and it works great. The standard 3 stitch belt is plenty for holster carry, the 5 stitch would be if you plan to carry a lot of heavy stuff on your belt.

Google for Looper Leathergoods in Oklahoma City. They make a Kydex reinforced belt specifically designed for concealed carry that is VERY heavy duty. They are a law enforcement supply store and make many custom leather products and their prices are very reasonable. When I bought my belt a couple years ago it was under 30 bucks!
Another Wilderness endorsement. I started out with the "Instructor" style buckle, which purports to make the belt a sort of backup safety harness (for which I have no need), so have taken to using their "Frequent Flyer" belts with plastic buckle, which is easier on neck-slung gear like binocs and cameras and such banging into the buckle.. Quality product and good people, in my experience --- they're local, and on one occasion, when they didn't have my size and color choice, made me up a belt on a "while you wait" basis, a matter of about fifteen minutes!
