Just found out the new Dick's by me stocks this ammo and the cost isn't too bad. Did a forum search and saw they run about as well as fed bulk.

However, I couldn't find anything on the forums with regard to recent feedback. On the net I saw some recent reviews that said the rounds are more recently over waxed and gunk up everything.

Any of you guys currently shoot this ammo and have feedback, good or bad? Thanks in advance gents-

That's great shooting ammo for me just like all CCI ammo. All .22 ammo seems to have some sort of lubricant on it so as long as its not dripping wet it's okay by me.

Buy a box and see if you like it....if not, your not out much. Most .22's seem to have an ammo preference and the Blazer may fit the bill.

I shot a box of 500 a few months ago no issues. My bore snake was not any more dirty than usual and the barrel looked nice and clean.

Nice thanks for the early feedback guys. My rifle is picky (hates cci tacticals, etc) but runs well on fed bulk. I'll pick up a brick and take it for a spin.

Decent ammo. I recently bought out my local Dunhams of it when it was on sale for $1.69 per 50. Not any dirtier or waxier than the fed bulk. It runs great in all my 22s and tend to be the cheapest 22 locally when not on sale. That makes me and my wallet happy :D

My 15-22 functions well with the blazer and federal bulk. The blazer appears to me a little more accurate.

hmmm, may have to pick up several bricks then. They're selling it at $19.99 for 525, which to me is okay because I don't have to pay for shipping. Is that about on par with what you guys are seeing?

I try to buy when they have them on sale. I bought out my local Fleet Farm of Federal Champion 525 which was on sale for $16.99 a box, they only had 5 left :(, because it was a better deal than $17.50 for 500 rounds of Blazer (which is the non sale price). Dunhams regular price for 525 rounds is around $23 but their 50 round boxes of it is only $1.99. Walmart when it has the Federal bulk 550 is $19.97 but locally they have been sold out of it for months. That will answer your question and more.

Have put about 2,000 rounds of CCI Blazer bulk through my new 15-22. Solid ammo, also picked it up at Dick's for $19.99 for 525. Haven't had a problem yet and have only run a boresnake through the barrel twice.

I have tried several brands and blazers were by far the most reliable. I also find them accurate. Of course there are those out there that wouldn't dream of using such "cheap" ammo. For me, I shoot what works and the price is a bonus.

I get most of my ammo from Palmetto State Armory when they have free shipping. I also don't pay sales tax and I get the Blazers for 16.99 or 17.99.

I believe the speed is about 1230 fps on the CCI Blazers. Yes they have a wax coating, it really helps lub up in feeding from the mag and breech. Funny how some owners of M&P 15-22 doesn't run good on CCI Tactical, mine loves it more than any of the other brands. I also get my best accurate shots with the Tactical ammo. The variation is so much on 22 cal. rifles it's amazing.

You probably saw my complaints where I said there were chunks of wax on the tips. I was able to get CCI to replace 5 boxes of my ammo with new ammo, which worked perfectly. I don't know if the wax problem was due to the manufacturing process or whether it was due to the summer heat melting the wax coating. Other than this problem, I love CCI Blazers.

Most likely this.

thanks for all the responses guys. I will test this ammo out at the range and if it cycles well it'll be nice to have another brand of cheap ammo to add to the list

All my 22 LR firearms run fine on CCI Blazer: 2 M41, 2 Ruger MKII, 2 10-22, 2 Kimber 1911 conversions, Ceiner 1911 conversion, 82 Kimber Gov rifle, 17, 617, S&W P22.

Federal bulk is usually very good, but I'm turning to Blazers as my go to plinking ammo. Just as good and I can buy it in a brick for about the same price. It is also quite accurate in about anything I try it in.

I prefer the copper washed/plated ammo as it burns cleaner and does not lead the barrel. I have used Blazer when I shoot matches where I can cool the barrel after ca 25 shots.
