One poster stated they are "softer" than Federal some say "harder"

Think they are safe in a Lee hand held primining tool?

I think if you look at the context, it was said that BOTH Wolf and Federal are softer than Winchester. Soft is a relative term so I don't think it would cause a problem in your Lee hand primer. If you feel you need more assurance, it would be a good idea to ask Lee.

I hope that helps,

Frank

Yes, in your post. Hurricane states they are harder.?
I will need to contact Lee. If they are softer than Federal and Federal are not recomended than Wolf would be a no also in a Lee Prime a matic.
Making note: Call Lee in AM and speak with that nice receptionist.

I've been using the Wolfs in my Lee auto prime with good results.

I also wear a good pair of safety glasses just in case.

Good to know. I just bought some online and was hoping they'd be fine in the Lee Auto Prime. I have the Anniversary kit, finally mounted on a piece of thick plywood (that I gave several coats of polyurethane) secured between two sawhorses. My setup is very basic but I can't wait!!!

I did basically the same thing. Mounted it on a 3/4' pice of plywood. I can then mount that to my workbench with carriage bolts or to my Black and Decker Workmate(old heavy duty version). I bring it inside in the summer when my wife isn't around and work in air condition comfort!

It's way to hot and humid in the garage.

I use nothing but Wolf primers.. shooting highpower prone, I have gotten great results with them. Lowest SD I have achived ever except with those very expesive CCI BR primers.. and I would have to say that in my rifle, the Wolf primers have matched the BR primers.. So, in a sense.. I get what I pay for! Great results with a small price. BTW just ordered another 10K from Powder Valley at 105.00 a sleeve.
