My most carried CCW is a Colt Cobra 4th Issue loaded with the FBI load. Carried in a EPS Street Combat or a Galco pocket holster. A spare six resides in a HKS Model0 speedloader.

Light, accurate, good power and very concealable.

The question you ask is really about you, and you alone. If you are going to carry with the intent of fighting to save your own life, what do you own that works best for you?

S/W Lifer gave you some excellent advice;heed it. I wouldn't argue with anything he says.

My CCW of choice is an Ed Brown Kobra Carry in .45acp. Yes it's a 1911 and could have a malfunction at the wrong time. I practice the drills mentioned. I carry this because I shoot it well and very rapidly if needed, it reloads fast and simply and it conceals very well in a high quality IWB leather holster.

Your advice is much appreciated. I'm beginning to have a real affinity for my 342Ti. You certainly can't beat the simplicity of a revolver.

I voted "Other" like most people so far. I carry a pair of Glock 27s because I don't handle reloading like I did at one time and the fastest "Reload" is still drawing a second gun as long as you don't carry it somewhere that you can't get to without calling for a 'Time-Out' from the bad guys!!!

Over time, I found that my best CCW gun was the one I woud NOT leave at home-------I had lots of choices but could not always carry the medium and large frame firearms due to dress code, weather, etc.

These days, my 2 carry guns are a Kahr PM 40 or a S&W Model 60 loaded with 158 grain +P loads. Lightweight, compact, and easy to tuck away in a good piece of leather----I NEVER leave home without one of these firearms.

My CCW weapons is a chief special for the quick evening running around. Serious issues a 686 Plus, 2 1/2" been magna ported and action job. Milt Spark in the pants holster and 2 speed loaders in my jeans pocket

JimH, I think I recognize your name, and am looking at the selection you posted. I haven't shot a 4013 or 4513, but the 3913 is a favorite of mine. That little pistol has always been accurate, reliable, and very concealable for me. I really, really like it a lot. That said, for myself these days, a 1911 or 3 1/2" to 4" Smith 357/ 44 Special is primary to a J frame; when I can dress for a full size pistol. When I have to wear a tucked in shirt & no outer cover garment, that sweet 3913/908 does well for me as a tuckable. Carry on!

642-1 for convenient pocket carry. When I feel the need to carry more than a j-frame it's usually a Sig 239 in .40 S&W carried IWB.

649 (j frame) when I need deep concealment. PC 327 (n frame 8 shot alloy snub) typically. Both via Thunderwear in different locations. Both with 125gr full house buffalo bore 357.

A 442 with CT grips in my pocket about 90% of time. Add a S&W M&P9c when I need it.

I voted other. Like KKG, I too carry a Glock 27. But mine is fitted with a Glock 23 mag with a sleeve. I like the extra capacity.

640 .357 with Speer SB 135's and two speedloaders quickly accessible in a cell phone case. It's an extremely reliable weapon--2500-3000 rounds so far with no issues. Once at the range I had a reloaded round with a recessed primer that did not fire. Another quick pull of the trigger and bang--man I love revolvers.

Also, I've gotten in the habit of asking myself, when selecting a piece to leave the house with: "Is THIS the gun you really want to defend your life with?" This keeps me from grabbing a mouser unless the dress code for day (which is very rare) dictates it.
