Had to cut way back when the housing market crashed. I still have friends in Hong Kong, Australia, and the Canary Islands, those are the best prices I've found and they realy aren't more than a good Padron or Tat.

I can't believe it took 25 posts to get some pix on this thread! :)

You got the sampler. That is the best way to learn. When you are ready for a humidor, let me know. I am down sizing. Look for the Habano forum in Australia, they rate them all, Cuban and non Cuban, and the cigars are like wine, some years are better than other. If you need a link pm me, I don't know if it's against the rules to post it.

Gee, thanks for the schooling, sir. ;)

Very important.

DO NOT USE OTHER THAN MATCHES (PREFERABLY WOOD) OR A BUTANE LIGHTER FOR CIGARS.

Fluid lighters will negatively affect the taste.

Be safe.

Note: In a pinch I have used anything and everything to light mine...sometimes one just needs a cigar. :p

quit smoking cigarettes when i learned my wife was pregnant, that was twenty years ago. ive missed cigars so badly over the years but if i had one smoke i might end up addicted to cigarettes again.
i would really like to relax with a good stogie and let the day go...

I quit smoking cigarettes at age 25, took up cigars 20 years later. I have not been tempted to smoke cigarettes again, nor could I even inhale one without hacking and coughing the way I did when I was ten. Could be different for you, but one puff, or even a cigar a day does not necessarily put you back on a slippery slope to cigarette addiction.

I don't smoke, and I never have. I want to learn about cigars, though. What is a good place to learn, what is a good cigar, and is there a right way to smoke them? Trimmed end? Certain way to light them? Y'all are the Worlds Foremost Authority, so please school me!

Never light with a fluid lighter. Butane is acceptable, but the very best is a wooden match. I never bothered with a cutter, just bit a leetle piece off the end. If you use a cutter, get one that cuts a notch. Real Cuban cigars will knock you on your butt. I'll be perfectly honest. I've smoked a lot of hand rolled cigars but I don't think I've ever found one better than a plain King Edward, Dutch Masters or a White Owl. Handmade and more money doesn't mean a lot to me. Some good hand mades: Romeo y Juilietta, Arturo Fuente, H. Uppman, El Rey del Mundo.

I got a lot of mine from JR Cigar. Great selection, good prices

I don't smoke anymore, but I did like my cigars.

WARNING: DO NOT START SMOKING CIGARETTES FOR ANY REASON. If you can't keep it to a limited number a cigars, don't get started.

I'm a firm believer in smokin' what you like. These companies have been in business a long time because somebody likes their cigars, but I ain't one of'em. :D

I was at work once, and was dying for a cigar. I went to a convenience store and got a Phillies Blunt. I pulled three draws off of it and threw it away.

Those Arturo Fuentes are pretty good @ less than $10, Dunhills...
I guess a really good, hi dollar cigar would be a good thing to start off with...probably be off putting to try a funky cheapo first and ....blah :P
Lemme know what you find out. I like Punch Grand Cru, but what do I know. I just got back from Mex and didn't even bring home any Habanos.

I'll keep folks posted. I want to buy the toys first......I've looked at a couple stores, one didn't know what they were talking about and the other was more in to bongs and porn.....didn't get anything at either. I'll keep looking.

There are some good magazines about cigars and there is a lot of good info on the internet. And do check out J-R Cigars site. It's been a long time but I had good dealings with them. I even visited their store while traveling once. The whole store is a giant humidor:cool::D:

J·R Cigars.com: Premium Cigars and cigar accessories at the best prices.
