Mom and Dad took me to upstate NY in a 1972 Pinto Wagon about 1973 or so. I have no desire to visit anywhere northeast ever again except Vermont...get it?
Lol more like the battle over Paterson. Now that's the real gem of the Garden state.Yeah, and let's not forget the battle for the Alamo over there in Newark!![]()
Still have to know the laws in Vermont
Right but you still have to know the laws if you plan to take your gun. It's as simple as that. I do not agree with NJ laws but I know them and know what I can or can't have when I enter that state. Same with the CO.Simple: If you can legally possess and own a handgun....
You may carry it concealed or openly, with NO permit required.
Your phrasing could open a can of worms...
As I have said before, the people of New Jersey have forgotten their proud history, Lexington and Concord.
Hey Chuck,If you are dumb enough to not KNOW the laws of the
state you are in should you even be carrying at all?
This isn't rocket science and we are talking about a weapon
are we not?
Some folks make it awfully hard on the rest of us who are
responsible gun owners.
Not everyone is cut out to carrying a firearm.
Chuck
I'm not an expert on either states gun laws, but from what I've been told is MA actually gives out carrying permits, whereas NJ rarely if ever does.Lexington and Concord are not in New Jersey. They are in Massachusetts, which has even MORE restrictive gun laws. If these laws were in effect and were obeyed at the time, there would have been no American revolution and we'd all be paying alot more for tea.
I know in Pa CO can only carry when on official duty transporting prisoners. Otherwise they have no LE authority. However, in Pa you can get a carry as a civilian permit no problem.
He is not a cop and has no right to carry in NJ.
It's an affirmative defense, but it will also be a costly on for the department that arrests someone legally carrying under LEOSA when they get sued for a false arrest.
Sheepdog Academy is an organization centered in NJ I think, that has sued departments for arresting someone under LEOSA when there was no basis for arrest.
In one law suit, I read where anyone from the officer on up the chain of command will be held responsible for bad arrests.
I'm a PA LEO and go to NJ and NY frequently and have no worries about carrying in either state. If some bone head officer in NJ or NY wants to arrest me, go right ahead. Your department will be writing me a huge check!

True true but I wonder if that defense would work in court. Would you care to try?Must disagree with yourlast sentence. He certainly has a God given right to defend himself along with 2A "shall not be infringed". The problem is his rights are being violated.

That's not the first time I've heard that. Paterson used to be a decent place to live. Lol not anymore. Also, I thought bosco was in Ramsey off of Franklin tpkI lived across the street from Don Bosco on Union ave in the '70's. Except for Kennedy High down the street, wasn't a bad neighborhood, then. And I'm pretty sure the Battle of the Alamo was about them renting little cars that burst into flames when hit from behind. Joe
