Roasting coffee today, the weather is pretty mild outside. A pound of Sumatran and a pound from Sulawesi, Indonesia. (the one shown in the photos) I get my green, unroasted beans from a family owned supplier: 2 Cups of Joe – The Best Raw Coffee Beans on the Internet

Behmor Roaster and a BonaVita coffeemaker. (or my old Chemex)

From this: (green)

To this.........in 2 minutes and 30 seconds, courtesy our local energy provider, Vectren Corporation.

Please post your personal favorite brand of coffee or country of origin....even the "store bought" stuff.

enjoy the day, and have a safe weekend everyone.

My son sent us a 5lb bag of "Black Rifle Just Black" coffee for Christmas. Didn't open it till the end of January. Got enough for maybe 5 more pots. They grind it perfectly, not into dust like a lot of folks. Good coffee. My stepson works at Starbucks in Orlando and gets 2 lbs a month allotment. He recently gave us 6 lb of beans. I got a grinder but I ain't greatest at getting it just right. All time favorite though is Blue Horse Kona Hawaiian. It's so good putting anything in it is like ketchup on filet mignon. Almost $50/lb this year so I am foregoing that treat. Joe

As I have posted, I drink coffee from Whiting Coffee.
They are a local family owned Roaster here in town.
Norm Whiting is top level Roaster who is set in his ways.
He only buys the best Arabic Beans and he will not roast lighter than a Full City and Darker.
His beans come from worldwide sources, but I prefer the African.
And he won’t accept credit cards!
I told you he was cranky!
I tell folks that he reminds me of my Dad.
That way I don’t need to tell them he also reminds me of me!

We had a coffee shop in town a number of years ago and it went the way of all things. However to this day I remember the name of my favorite type of coffee they made. I've never seen it since they closed. It was called Dancing Goats... And I remember it's wonderful taste to this day ( though I couldn't describe it the was experts do.) The flavor was" complex" in my mind and I'd love to find out where to get it. You could smell the aroma in the shop if they were brewing it when you came in. Nowadays, having to get up at 4 am before I retired, I've gotten a Keurig, mostly because of it's speed and because I'm the only one in the house who drinks coffee. I used to be able to get Wolfgang Pucks "Hawaiian Hazelnut" and was very sad when they stopped making it over 5 years ago. Now I like Cinnabon flavored coffee and Krispy Kreme original glazed donut flavor.

We’ve tried a number of exotic coffee’s and keep coming back to 8 O’Clock whole bean. We use a Cuisinart with an automatic burr grinder and it makes a good pot of coffee. Whole beans have actually been difficult to find on the store shelves lately, but I’m trying to stay home and haven’t been grocery shopping as much as I usually do.

I ventured out first thing this morning and found one large bag of 8 O’Clock on the shelf, so we’re set for a few more weeks.

It’s crazy out there! I arrived at Kroger 10 minutes before they opened and there was already a line of people waiting to get in. Several were wearing pajamas, a few were wearing masks and one guy had a pair of pantyhose tied over his face!

Just bought some Sumatra dark roast Starbucks pods for my Nespresso machine. Makes a superb latte. Also bought the dark roast Cafe Verona. I find that I no longer enjoy the process of making a good cup of coffee. Just pushing a couple of buttons is just fine by me if the results are good.

FYI, Dunkin Donuts is a complete failure here in Starbucks land. Not one store in the entire state.

Coffee? I just can't drink that stuff straight.....

What's in YOUR coffee?

Remember: 'Breakfast... its the most important drink of the day.'

My Son got me the Bean Box with samples from around the World. The Africa Coffee is amazing. Kenya Gaturiri AA is my favorite but hard to find.
For my daily going to work Coffee it is Kirkland.
