..I would say the women, and most others, get attacked while going to and from the car...I constantly tell my daughters that, that is the most vulnerable area/time.
Then shouldn't you be walking them into the store yourself?

most likely, common sense says, men will drop them off close to the doorThen shouldn't you be walking them into the store yourself?
the Concealed Carry podcast does have a lot on training, mentality, legal aspectsI’ve notice that there are bazillions of web pages, groups, platforms, videos and forums on the internet that discuss, buy, sell, evaluate guns, gear and ammo. But in comparison almost nothing on training. There are millions of new gun owners out there since 2020. Lots of unskilled untrained gun owners. I’m constantly pushing training. If we spent a quarter of the time, money and energy on training as we did stuff then we’d have something to talk about right there. Train!
. . . I could become a media villain while the shooter becomes the next media darling who's family gets a huge financial award from the community.

....I would say if you are at a school or anywhere with the majority of people are children, everyone has a duty to protect the kids if you are armed or not…and watch others humans being harmed.
Having directly involved myself in deadly force situations when off duty (when a LEO) and since my retirement, I would take appropriate action should I face one again.
My ‘duty’ as an armed (and well trained) human takes precedence over my personal well being. Could not live with myself if I took NO action and others were harmed.
BTW, I never sit with my back to the wall unless alone. Would not want to use others as shields.
Be safe.
The lack of availability of places that offer qualifications for LEOSA and the costs involve, very well might be a big consideration.Spot on!
I also have an issue with LEO Retirees not carrying under LEOSA. The PD I retired from, according to the Rangemasters. Say most retirees do not make it pass the second or third qualification.

In the neighborhood of $60-$95. The distance to a LEOSA qualification for me is 4 hours each way. What does it normally cost? As an LE firearms instructor the thought of charging a retired cop to qualify doesn't even enter my mind.

most of the crime/attacks/kidnapping/carjacking/etc happen outside the store/going to and from the carIf I remember correctly this happened in the early 90s. At that time carrying a handgun in public at all in Texas was a crime.
On an unrelated note:
I've seen people post on various forums about how they go shopping with their wife and they sit in the car while the wife goes into Walmart or the mall or wherever and does her shopping. Several of the people who make posts like that have stated that they're there for their wife's protection.
Every time I read these posts I think the same thing, if you're out in your car and something happens inside the store, first you have to know about it. Then you have to get out of your car, get into the store and the FIND your wife in a paniced crowd.
It just doesn't make any sense to me.
