You must post pictures of that one when you get it finished! I've never seen a beaded holster, but it sounds damned intriguing.
I just dyed it black and stitched a rosette on the side of it.

I carry mine in a LOBO pancake with a good belt.
I've been carrying a gun everyday for so long that it IS part of my wardrobe and I take that into consideration everytime I'm clothes shopping, but people who are new to carrying often times need to make adjustments.

Try a Blackhawk Serpa, you can convert it from either paddle or belt mode. And a mika pocket holster for when you can't cover an OWB holster. I wish they made a Blackkawk Serpa for K Frames.

I've used the Uncle Mike's pocket holsters for over twelve years, but recently acquired a Desantis Nemesis. In most of my pants pockets the Nemesis works beautifully, keeping the gun firmly positioned for the draw and reducing printing. I have one pair of jeans and a couple of pairs of twill work pants with pockets in which the Desantis doesn't work quite as well, so I just switch back to the Uncle Mike's when I wear them.
The Nemesis works very well in a jacket pocket, too.
The gun is a 21 ounce 640 no-dash, but I've pocket carried it for so many years I don't notice the weight.

My Model 38 rides in Akers OWB leather. It has very good retention and is comfortable. I wish it rode a little lower, but it gets the job done.

In a pocket holster, I just like a holster that will keep the gun from poking holes in my pocket or turning upside down through normal activity. I'm under no illusions than one is going to be decisively quicker in a "gun battle" than another. If you're carrying a pocket holster, you'd better have your wits about you and have the gun in hand BEFORE you need it. I'd like to see the times for guys who carry pocket holsters standing in front of a target taking shots with a shot timer. Same goes for guys who carry under an untucked shirt. You aren't going to outdraw an alert bad guy. Best to hope for an unalert one. Even better.....shot timer + ankle holster. Seriously. Most of these holster discussions are mostly academic, and about comfort as opposed to effectiveness in battle.

I'm 75 years old, and don't do anything very fast anymore. But by an amazing coincidence, when I'm in an area in which I have the slightest questions about security, my right hand seems to find its way to the pocket where my holstered 640 rides. And stay there.
I put Pachmayr Compac grips on the piece years ago, and like them a lot. But by another strange quirk of fate, the impressed checkering on the right side is worn much smoother than on the left. Almost as if it were being handled a lot...
No, of course I can't keep the hand on the gun all the time, but you'd be surprised how much of the time it's there.
Not the OP but here are some pictures of trying to carry OWB with a J Frame and having problems. The pictures are of a Desantis OWB on high waisted and low waisted pants. Holster is unwearable and totally uncomfortable and will be returned. Other picture is of an Annie O, perfectly comfortable, easy to draw from but harder to conceal.

Can someone ID this holster because I like the way that looks.
I picked up this a few years back. I think it's by Galco, can't remember. It's great for summer wear or when wearing a tucked in shirt. The butt of the gun rides right at the top of the belt line. Just a slightly bloused shirt covers it. It's definitely no speed holster but it's not all that slow either.
