I am looking to purchase a older revolver via a auction and there seems to be some conflicting info…I'm hoping someone can shed some light.
The F/A in question has paperwork for a Model 19 and the only identifying info provided is a "38 S&W Special CTG" on the right side of the barrel. Additionally, there is "Marcia's Registradas" stamped under there Made in USA
The serial No. given is 91K7070. Is it possible that this is a unique chambering for a export??
Thanks for any help!

Yes there were model 19s that were specifically chambered for the 38 special cartridge for export to some foreign countries.

I do not recall the years that those were manufactured nor do I know the serial number ranges

Some photographs of the revolver in question would certainly allow us to identify the correct model number just in case the information you have is incorrect

Usual roll marking on the right side of the frame below the cylinder is: Made in USA, Marcas Registradas, Smith & Wesson, Springfield, Mass. The caliber marking may indicate an export, or made for a law enforcement agency. Someone with more knowledge may be able to help.

It is possible but I have not heard of any Model 19's chambered in .38 Special in 1981.

91K Model 19's are 2.5" round butt but they're also in the 91K0 ~ 91K39 range.

They don't have any pictures for the auction?

Conflicting info/serial No.

Here are some pics they provided. I'm hoping to get a pic of the actual serial No.

The item in the pictures is a Model 15 in 38 Special, not a Model 19. The seller has put an incorrect owner's pamphlet with the revolver. That was either done to trick an unwary buyer or by mistake, but if the seller is asking for a premium because it is in the "original box" with all papers, etc., the answer is that it does not have original papers and it is equally likely that the box is not correct either, or it has a fake label obtained from one of the crooks who was selling fake labels.

Conflicting info

Thanks for all the info, I didn't think it was the correct paperwork.
I have a request in for actual pic of serial No.
I know the auction house and have dealt with them many times. They don't consciously try to trick anyone but only go by what the estate/seller says. Having said that, I've picked some gems out of their auctions in the past as they have posted pics/info that don't add up but it works out in my favor…
