*&%$### coyotes got my dog

Senior Citizen,

I'll post some pics this Winter of some of the ones up here that will pay the price. Cannot say how badly I feel about you losing Dude. I cannot imagine....

Coyotes got my little Chiuhaha about a year ago, then a few weeks later I heard this awful squealing sound and I went outside and a big Coyote was on top of my 14 year old Scottish Terrier. We live in the city and that was at 8:30 in the morning! A couple hundred bucks in vet bills later and the Scottie was O.K., but I will remember that "death squeal" sound for the rest of my life. They don't allow discharging firearms in the city limits, but a big Yote later walked through the back of my yard and I just happend to have some 20 gauge Number 3 buckshot handy and I was not in a friendly mood! It folded him up like a well used Kleenex!

Sorry about what happened to your "Dude". Coyotes run in packs around here, they're used to people and show no fear whatsoever. After 3 coyotes tore up my neighbors 100+ pound black lab I stand guard while my dog does his "business". Max is old, blind and slow so he wouldn't stand a chance...

I hate to here about your loss. That would be a really bad way to go being hunted by a pack of coyotes. I hope you didn't witness him being killed that way. I don't let mine out unless I'm with him. I hope you find another companion but dude can't ever be replace. Nice toddler also looks happy.

I noticed R.Walters post disappeared. Does that mean he disappeared as well? I can't believe he said something like that.

Sorry to hear that. As I live a 'few' miles up the road and occasionally hear 'yotes, I will be more cautious in the future.

Hope we never see another thread like this.

R. Walter is a typical coward. He is brave sitting behind his keyboard. I hope he is gone for good. We don't need idiots like him here. We have enough enemies on the outside, and in the government. To post something that cruel and thoughtless is inexcusable!

Senior Citizen- I am so sorry for your loss, and even more sorry that you had to be attacked like that publicly, by an ignorant fool.

Condolences on the loss of your pal. Coyotes consider any smaller animal fair game. We have one small dog, a Boston Terrier, and thank God we have a tall fence where he roams in our back yard, 'cause coyotes are all over the place, us being near the desert. I suspect our PB would protect him, though. I can't imagine your pain. It's hard to lose a loved dog from old age, but before its time in such a manner, that's really awful. Again, so sorry for you and your family. What a gut-wrenching experience for you all.

Joni removed his post....and it was the right thing to do, for the right reason...

Hopefully Lee takes care of the rest....;)

Thanks to all the kindness to animals there are coyotes running through the city near me as well, And the "No discharging of firearms" is handing the pets over to the coyotes, Last year I lost 20+ chickens to foxes.....
Times sure have changed.
I AM sorry for your loss and hope that we all remember that our pets are our friends as well as our family, And we should be able to protect them as we would a loved one ! ! !
If we can help, Please let us know!
I now have a tripod 4' inside my window and a .22 on the wall.......
You're a good man Senior citizen
Thanks for your help many months ago.
What can I do for you?

Peter, thanks for your kind words. Glad I was able to help you then, just as you are/have helped me today.

Guys, don't get too involved with R Walter. Without the bad there is no judgment for good. Folks like that make most of us appear civil and decent.

I've never been a fan of the ignore button. If I don't know I'm ignoring the person, I don't get to enjoy it as much. ;-)

It's gonna be alright........one day.

Thanks again...all

Lee
