*&%$### coyotes got my dog

Sorry for your loss. I know how attached a pet like that can become. Although killing the coyotes probably won't bring Dude back, I'd go all out just in case. At least you can say you tried. If you need any help, just say so. Appears to be plenty of folks who are willing to help.

I'm sorry for your loss; it's heart-breaking to lose one to age or illness, but this set-up must enrage you.
Where you live, you probably can't poison them, but perhaps you could use one of those electronic calls, and trap them.
Once they're in the trap, you can decide on final disposition.
Pets are totally dependent on their owners to feed, shelter, and protect them. Our knowledge of that is what really hurts when something happens to them.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of your friend. That is terrible. I am an avid coyote hunter and trapper. If you want to trap some of them let me know. I will send you some foothold traps and all of the stuff you need to set them.

I too am sorry for your loss, My dogs are family members also, I can't imagine the pain your going through.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. Everytime I hear some "well-meaning" moron say how they are a part of nature and should be left alone I think of people like you who have lost pets to coyotes. If they come on my property I shoot them - coyotes I mean; I don't allow "well-meaning morons" on my property.

That's awful! Poor Dude. I am sorry for your loss and the horror attached to it.

Whatever you can use in your neighborhood, even those "whisper" air rifles, kill the coyotes who come around houses. They can grab children too.

Lucy and I are extremely sorry for your loss.
One min-pin owner to another, I know how much love they bring.

I hope that dosen't mean your going to give up on pups????

XXXXXXXX

probably so. I didn't want this one. But my son bought it for my wife and she toted it around like a baby for 6 weeks and I took care of him while she was at work. He got way more attached to me than her. Every step I made he made with me. He should be laying across my feet on the floor right now. He was everywhere and today I am still looking for him every step I take. My old camo hat on the couch looks like him curled up sleeping. Every bump on the bed looks like him. All the nose prints on my truck windows and pee stains on my truck tires/rims. They're all him. He was like having a 4 foot piece of rope tied around your ankle. Every step you made he was there.

Damn...............

So sorry for the loss of your friend SC. May many coyotes find themselves in your sights, and may all your shots hit their marks.

I am very sorry for your loss. But your sharing this story may very well spare someone else from having this happen to their pet. I have seen a fox or two here in our subdivision. I have warned our kids about how quickly something like that could happen to our yorkie or mini dachshund. I will show them this thread to prove to them things like this really do occur. Again I am very sorry for your loss.

Lee, sorry to be so late to this. I am so sorry for your family and Dude. You all will be in my prayers.

As to R.Walter, good riddance to bad trash.

Send your favorite caliber's loading list, and your address.
I always like giving to a good cause!
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend Senior...

Ever tried the 70 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip?

They are wonderfully accurate, and VERY effective on a light target.

No Sir, never tried them.

I down loaded some Hornady 75 grain V-MAX bullets 2 years ago for a little girl to shoot in my model 7. Her dad videoed her shooting her first deer with that load. Big doe, dropped in her tracks like she was head shot with a 300 RUM.

I don't coyote hunt........but I do kill every one I can. I used to kill 8 or 10 every year during deer seaon when I could hunt the land behind the house. Guy is raising cows (and coyotes) back there now.

Got a few pix of some some where if I can find them.

tks,
Lee

Sir, you have my most sincere condolences on the loss of your friend. I can not even fathom the pain you must be experiencing.

Although I hope you kill every stinkin' coyote you find, popping them with a 243 (or any caliber capable of a clean kill) seems too nice a way for the vermin to go. May they all suffer incredibly before they succumb.
