All the other CS45s that I've seen are silver frame / stainless slide. Today, I stumbled upon a LNIB CS45 with a black frame / black slide complete with 2 mags and papers with an asking price of $499.

Were only a few CS45s produced in the black configuration? I was thinking about offering $475 to the gun shop owner. What would a typical sale price be on these?

Thanks.

I am not sure about the number of all black CS45s. Mine has is silver/stainless. LNIB with all the trimmings at $499 is a very good price in my experience.

many believe the quality of blueing on the "black" value line guns (of which the CS is considered a descendant) is not the highest quality finish. Owning CS9/40/45, some in stainless, some in "black", as well as a black/blued 457 (another value line gun) I think I would agree. They just don't seem to hold up as well to everyday use and wear. They are great guns but for my money, the stainless version is the more desireable. So offer $475 (or maybe less depending on the condition)----the worst answer is a simple "no thanks". If in really good condition I wouldn't hesitate to pay $500 for one if it was a gun I really wanted; its a fair price. Good luck.

The CS guns were released in a flat black finish before the stainless guns were released. (Like they did with the 457 before the 457S was released.)

A friend of mine bought a CS9 & CS45 when they were first released, in black finish, for $369/each, as I recall. That was in a local sporting goods/gun store, too. They came with 2 mags (commercial guns). They also had a single side safety/decocker and plastic sights.

Pricing? Who can say. Since the guns are no longer a catalog item, how badly do you want one?

"Quality" black seem to be more rare I have one of each in 45 . If I ran across a lnib black cs40 or cs9 at at good price l'd be allover it but with the intentions of it not being a daily carry

I did notice yesterday that it didn't have a MIM hammer or trigger -- so I figured it might be an early production model. I'm going to go look at it again this afternoon and decide if I want to pick it up. If not, I'll post the dealer's contact information in the event that someone else on here might be interested.

I didn't end up getting back by the gun shop to look at the CS45 again -- so I'll pass the contact info on in case someone else might be interested in it.

It is LNIB with 2 mags -- looks unfired to me -- priced at $499. It is located at Fort Valley Firearms in Indianapolis.

I live in Indy and I thought I knew all of the shops. I'm not familier with Fort Valley and there is no listing in the phone book. I'd sure appreciate some directions.

Imho, that is a VERY good price. Too bad I just bought a 4516 or I would be on that like white on rice! I also am of the opinion that these were designed as carry guns and holster wear and scuffs are part of their design. My CS9 is starting to show honestly earned holster wear and it looks great.

I agree. I really considered this little CS45 -- but I decided to stick with my Detonics Combat Master, customized by Novak that I'm packing on this trip...

They're out there... Mine was <$400 with shipping & FFL xfer fees. Definitely used but it fills that same role for me. There are days that I do better with it at the range than the 4506-1... at least at short ranges.

I'm thinking the Indy Metro area has a nice per/capita percentage of CS45s?! I know of a few other owners here.

I do not know where there shop is, he may have the name a little messed up, but the shop, whatever its name, sets up at the Indy 1500 with a large booth in the small north room just as you walk in.

The show was last weekend and I handled this gun, small world. It is in excellent condition. I almost bought it in spite of having just picked up a stainless CS45 w/ 4 mags for $399.
