Cuomo's state of the state speech on guns

It's a shame that people bash NYS for stereotypical reasons and political views they don't agree with. I am a New Yorker and feel that i am no better or worse than those who do so. I work like you do, raise my kids like you do and respect and treat people with dignity. It's no wonder we can't get together for a common purpose to support our 2nd amendment rights. We can't even respect people in other states that have laws that you cannot accept. Well, we can't accept them either and are trying to make a difference. New Yorkers are not all disrespectful, criminals, thugs, single mothers, welfare freeloaders or whatever thoughts you may have and our politicians are not acceptable to some including me so hopefully we can get them all voted out.

Where did you get this from? NY sucks period. Great landscape but really bad laws and politicians along with high costs living here make it the reason why this state is on the bottom of the list when it comes to economic success. NYC has drained this state and it continues to do so. The only reason why I'm still here is because my job offers full benefits and a pension. I have been looking to get out of this state and this recent gun ban is my last straw. NY by far is a nanny state just like California and if you have a chance to leave, it would be the best.

It came from some of the post in this thread and others i have seen on this forum. You are entitled to your opinion. My only point is that there is no need to bash it because its your opinion. Believe it or not there are some people that live here and like it and its offensive to some when they see their home being disrespected that's all... If you could not see that point in my post then I hope this clears it up for you.

Zip... My post was not in response to yours. It just happened to be under yours. I apologize if that was your thought. I did not mean for you or anyone to remove their post. It was just an observation and feeling nothing more.

No worries I misunderstood. I took it down because those who believe in the 2A need to come together...despite minor differences. Time to focus on the big picture IMO.

From what I recall being a ex NY'r of 24 yrs a neighbor on Long lsland had Atf people knocking on neighbors doors & asking questions regarding character because the person was applying for permit to buy a rifle. This happened in the 80's in Bayshore. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens with ammo purchases.

I just saw on the am news Senator Schumer was applauding Dick's Sporting Goods for taking down and now refusing to sell any more military looking rifles.
I wrote to Dick's and told them they will not get one nickle of buisness from me or anyone I can convince to join me. We've got to punish the retailers who are caving into this hysteria.
Senator Schumer also said it was "lunacy" to have a gun appreciation day.
