I bought a brand X "Tactical .22" because of the price. Big mistake - should have bought a 15-22 instead.

Anyway, it was junk and after repeated attempts to get customer service to repair it (with shipping costs paid my ME), I finally dumped it and bought the right one.

My new M&P 15-22 is a dream. Flawless performance and accuracy better than expected.

So, I bought a second mag and found it wasn't quite right. Spring tension was bad, so I wrote S&W and asked for a new spring.

So, what did they do? Sent me a whole new mag, didn't ask for a return, didn't question my complaint, just sent it off gratis.

Now is that Customer Service or what?

Being a new 15-22 owner, stories like this a great to hear. I haven't had a single problem yet but it's good to know that if I do, I have the company's support behind the product.

I have not had any problems with any of my S&W guns, including my 15-22, but have contacted customer service for technical help several times on other matters. In one case, I asked it I could put a spurred hammer in my 3913. They said sure and told me which model would work. When I asked for the part number and price so I could order it, the tech asked me for my address, and said he'd ship one out. Free. It cost me twenty bucks for a gunsmith to install it and I was a happy man. Smith and Wesson is a great organization to deal with. I later saw the same hammer for sale online at a parts supplier for over $50. I now own five handguns and one rifle, all smiths.

haha.. i was actually out looking for a mossberg 22 for $350 when the guy was like "let me do you a favor since there are no refunds" and handed me the 15-22 with a $429 price tag.

but on topic i also had a very positive experience calling customer service for replacement load assist buttons..

i also just recently had a very positive experience getting rubber seals from vortex optics.

The 15-22 was one of the brighter spots in my life as a "consumer" last year (I hate that word). It almost made up for being an AT&T customer. My only mistake was in not getting it long before.

Had it out three times last week, temps down to +10 with a breeze. Ran flawlessly and no brass to pick up.

I bet "brand x" was a Umarex Colt M4 Ops or a Umarex HK 416.

I saw the price of the Mossberg 22, so i went to look at it, and when i held it in my hand I knew it was a P.O.S. so I asked to see the 15-22 and could tell by holding it was much better quality. the Mossberg doenst have a charging hadle , it has the same as a Rem 597. so it is just a regular everyday 22 with plastic, not polymer, AR stock on top. I love my 15-22. Just think the trigger is really ****ty, and mechanical. not a smooth pull.

thats exactly how it was for me. the price of the mossberg got me in the store, but as soon as i held it, i thought it was a *** too and not worth even the asking price. Then researched...and found this page. i then bought a 15-22

The mossy used to sell for 299, that almost got me to buy one for my oldest son. I finally got a hold of one at a gun show for a good look. Similar in quality as those toy air guns Walmart sells. Went with the Sig 522 (his choice, I already had my 15-22).

A friend of mine had already bought the 522, hasn't shot it yet, had it over a year. He was going on about how great it was supposed to be. While the 522 is a very fine rifle, I wouldn't trade my 15-22 for it. I like my magazines better, loads easier. Bought a load assist for the son's 522 as it wore my thumb out to load a magazine. He occasionally has a FTE using the same ammo I'm using in the 15-22 that has yet to have a single issue. Both great guns, Mossy, not so much.

Mossberg's are sweet looking guns...until you get close up and compare them to the S&W. Comparing a Mossberg AR to a 15-22 is like comparing a donkey cart to a Masarati.
