First S&W firearm.

Started off with basic SD40VE setup:

Went ahead and stippled the grip (enormous change in feel):

Threw on a Streamlight TLR-1s

A little Sigma porn:

I will stipple the grip more once I figure out which way I want to go with it.

And you carry that barge? Everyday? You're a better man than I. I found no place I could carry mine-went to the .40 Shield.

I am somewhat smaller framed and have no problem concealing the firearm.

UM It's not a SIGMA.

I carry the gun also, daily.

Yeah, like I said, "new to S&W". lol Thanks for the correction.
I am having the hardest time finding a holster that will accomodate to the light being attached.

I carry mine daily with the TLR1 in a Raven concealment Holster made for the M&P 9/40.

AS I stated in the other thread Bravo concealment also makes one for the M&P9/40 with TLR1 that will fit the SD.

I'm just curious but why do you have the light attached? I can't think of an event that would require it in a concealed carry situation.

I was going to come up with some scenarios but I can't imagine where a concealed carry situation would benefit from that big ol' friggin' lighthouse on your pistol. I'm thinking carry a shotgun in this case...

Do you have a unique situation that would require such a setup?????

In my experiences and learnings:

Taclight = HD
Laser or nothing = Daily CC

With some exceptions, but not many.

Adding to the above post, do you carry your pistol concealed with the light installed? My next question is WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what you are saying is you only leave the house during daylight hours?

I work in security (not allowed to carry on the job) But my shift is from 2pm-11 pm or sometimes later.

My job is to piss off the felons the company I do security for hire by enforcing the rules. It is pitch black most of the time in the area I work in and unfortunately I do not have the night vision of a nocturnal animal.

Oh did I mention we give these felons box cutters so they can do their jobs.

So that is why my daily carry gun has a light and nightsights, when I get home the TLR1 gets switched out for a TLR4.

Personally I think at the very least night sights are a must on any CC gun.

Edited to clarify I carry to and from work not on the job as it is against policy

Yes I carry it IWB with light installed. See above for reasoning.

I find that the activation levers on my TLR's like to snag on things during draws, so no light attached if I am carrying it.

Your draw stroke may be different from mine but I have never had this issue. Only issue I have run into is when I put it in the constant on position it will get shutoff during recoil occasionally due tomy thumbs forward grip. I am still working on my grip.

What is on your trigger guard in the last pic? some sort of activation switch for the light?

ETA: Never mind its the grip for the screwdriver you used to stand the gun up. DERP on my part

I guess you do have kind of a unique situation-is it hard to keep it concealed or does the fact that it "might" be seen by your "customers" act as a deterrent..

Ummmm-Nope. ;)

YEP! :D

Riiiight-me too... ;)

My family is a bit of a unique situation. I (new dad) work during the day, wife(sons mom) works evenings bartending. So she has our son during the day and I get him at night. Needless to say that my son and I are busy in the evenings doing odd-ends. Since he is still in a carrier I am pretty restricted on what I am accessible to. Having the "lighthouse" attachment lets me be able to shed light on an area and manipulate a firearm with one hand.

The drawing of the gun is not an issue, I have realized that the toggle will snag from time-to-time...but after practicing the draw with the light I feel pretty comfortable with it.

Oh and the last pic is when I first got the gun, the guy had a laser/flashlight attachment that was horendous and ultimately a "***".

Shotgun you say? LOL I was in a situation with my Mossberg that left me handicapped to just operate the shot gun. I needed to operate a phone and keep aim all at the same time. Didn't happen. Biggest reasoning for having the flashlight attacment for me though is that the stun effect is enough to throw off a threat without firing the weapon.

It would be difficult to conceal that in my uniform however when off duty wearing normal clothes I do not have an issue keeping it concealed.

As for carrying on duty, it is against company policy so if someone was to do that they would need to make damn sure it will always be concealed.
I typically keep a Kershaw Skyline pocket knife and a Self defense pen on me at all times. The SD 40 VE gets locked in a small safe in the car.

Although there have been a few time I put a tuckable IWB holser to use after a few were fired and said they would be back to shoot up the place. The talkers rarely act, but better safe than sorry.
