Damn foxes stealing my flip flops

It seems like foxes can move right in around people. One day my brother and I were visiting our dad in the hospital. We had gone back to the car to go back to the house when a fox walked into the parking lot like it owned the place. All of a sudden there is a plate flying in the air by the fox's head and it was chowing down on something. Apparently somebody left a plate of food out on the ground in the parking lot and the fox figured that DoorDash had just been by.

The foxes steal and chew flip flops if left overnight by the back door of my beach house. They also like to lounge on chairs with cushions if their feet are muddy. So annoying. We have a lot of foxes at my rural farm, and they also lounge on the furniture but don't steal shoes. Guess country foxes have better manners.
Glad to hear.
Even foxes are smart enough to know men should NEVER wear open-toed shoes

The urban fox problem in the UK is totally out of control. Had one come and check out everyone on a railway station platform one night. He clearly expected somebody to give him a snack,

Near a town that work took me to frequently there were a lot of beautiful ring-neck pheasants.
Then foxes started showing up. Cool.
One year later there were lots of foxes but pheasants had become rare.

When they start biting tires with the car moving you know you have a problem. Indicators of rabies are porcupine quills in the mouth and or skunk odor, normally they look healthy otherwise.

update....

I went out and retrieved my flip flop. Rinsed it off and put it in the sun to dry. Put it on later in the day and walked inside and thought "I smell a slight scent of skunk". Now I never knew there was a "slight" smell of skunk. So either fox pee smells of skunk or maybe the foxes are not the culprit?

And truth be told they steal my flip flops but chew my wife's flip flops....

We had an adult(mother?) and three pups living under our deck a couple years back. I enjoyed watching them play, chasing one another, over, under and around. Pretty creatures. I guess they moved on. Haven’t seen them since.
While I’ve never heard it in the flesh, I understand their screams can be quite disconcerting.

They are fun to watch for sure.

I live in a wooded area of KC. The first time I slept here (before we had moved), I was in the living room and I heard the freakiest howl/screech. Freaked me out. I eventually figured out that it was a fox. If you haven't heard one, it doesn't sound like something from this realm. Lol.

Last summer, a fox was walking around in the neighbor's yard across the street. It was the stalking the neighbor's cat. We yelled at it and I walked over towards it. It followed me back to my house. Not too far from our front door. It didn't look sick and wasn't being aggressive, but it sure wasn't afraid of people. We left it alone. Didn't see it much after that. It probably found a new home.

We've had back yard foxes, too. They're very entertaining, but best of all, they keep the squirrel population under control. I've posted this video before, but it seems appropriate to post it again here:
