When we had a large horse operation we had resident red foxes......and ground hogs. There were a couple of GH holes the foxes turned into dens. When I saw the first kits (through the rifle scope) I wondered what Corgi puppies were doing out there. Then mom came out. Watching the kits play was really cute. Didn't take the moms long to learn that one shot meant dinner was served, they just had to find it. I was startled when I saw the first one come a running.

It takes almost zero effort to tame a fox.

I went out of my way to not tame Spud and she still followed me around at work.

the only thing that I ever originally provided for that Fox was water and she followed me around the fence line like a dog.

According to all the fox experts on YouTube you can tame a fox and you can have it live in your house but you will never house break it. Apparently they're like spider monkeys in that regard.

I was at work one morning and I pissed her off I don't even know what I did but she turned her back on me lifted her tail and let a turd fly right at me. You will never convince me that she did not know exactly what she was doing when she did that.

update....

I went out and retrieved my flip flop. Rinsed it off and put it in the sun to dry. Put it on later in the day and walked inside and thought "I smell a slight scent of skunk". Now I never knew there was a "slight" smell of skunk. So either fox pee smells of skunk or maybe the foxes are not the culprit?

And truth be told they steal my flip flops but chew my wife's flip flops....
Why would you diss a skunk like that?
Dude, it's your frick'n feet!

I once had a fox slink in through the cat door where it had a screaming match with the cat in the living room in the middle of the night. I came down the stairs and encountered it, when it ran for the dining room. I threw the cat in the bathroom, closed the door, and opened the front door then went into the kitchen and after waiting a few moments went back to check if it was still there. I was sneaking down the hall when it came sneaking around the corner. We both screamed and it ran out the door, leaving a large VERY stinky puddle on the floor. House now for sale. Inquire if interested.

The simplest solution would be a 22 or 410 shotgun if using one is legal where you live. Foxes are not endangered and can become a nuisance animal. I'm not certain what non-lethal measures are apt to succeed. My only experience with them comes from being on my Grandparents' farm. Many of them died to my Grandfather's 410 shotgun. They didn't raid the chicken coop for long.

Don't get me wrong, we have them roaming the neighborhood I live in now. I live on the outskirts of a city and do see them from time to time. They just haven't become a problem for me.

As long as they don't mess with me, or my dogs, I don't mess with them. I like them because they eat some of the neighborhood rabbits.
