Date of mfg for S&W CTG revolver search

Number on the butt is 567814,
on the frame 40385.
Last patent date on barrel Dec 22 14
Can any help with identifying the date range of manufacture of my revolver, please? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Forum. First off, you seem to have several identical pictures of the top address stamping of the barrel You should be able to delete the extras by going to edit your post.

You have a 38 Military & Police, 4th Change revolver. The only number of importance is on the butt. Serial number 567814 likely shipped in 1927. The other number is just an assembly number.

Gary correctly identified your revolver and the date he gave is close, if not certain.
The stocks are period correct and probably original. Nice piece.

The last patent date is actually December 29, 1914.

It is a .38 M&P, and appears correct in all respects. Probable shipment in 1926-27, unlikely it is any later than that. Fairly common, not much else to be said about it.
