Dedicated to Mule Packer and keith44spl

Jim,

Back when I was in my prime and full of piss & vinegar...Could ride the hills and swing a purty big loop. I was riding the wife's ropin' horse in this pic...Was trying to coax him into doing a Hi-Ho Sliver, but he wasn't having none of that.

(click on the pic for a big view)

If someone told me I could use only one word to describe that photograph, my word would have to be "breathtaking".

As if there weren't enough great photos by you and Chip in this thread already, you had to show up and throw this one into the mix.

I gotta know...what is that you're carryin' crossdraw?

You're killin' me, man...just killin' me.

Jim,
That snap shot was made with one of those lit'l
instamatic cameras back before the turn of the century.

Best I recall, I was packin' this'n....Colt New Frontier 44 Special.

As just a side note, I like cross-draw when a horseback, can draw with either hand... ;):D

This thread reminds me of two places that you really should visit while traveling to or through Oklahoma.

1) The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum

Been there and will go again. Beautiful place and lots of things to see and buy. Great exhibits, like these two;

2) Chisholm Trail Heritage Center

Been there and might go again. It's a smaller museum but very interesting and informative. The true story about Lonesome Dove. They have a nice gift shop as well, got a nice limited print there. Still needs a frame though.... just sitting naked on top of the cabinet for now...

Lots to learn about horses.
Thanks for the information.
I guess there's more to it than climbing up in the saddle, strumming a guitar and singing to the horse. :D
Roy and Dale lied?

Ariats fit well out of the box.
Good work boots for the woodshop.
Hopefully early Spring riding in Colorado... Skiing rules until then.
DIL is a young Vet, she loves the Rockies and larger patients are in her future.
