But do you think a gun in that condition is reasonably fixable? Would you have bought it? (Just curious.)

If I was in the market for an M&P and found a shooter for $300 that needed an oversized hand to make it right, I'd likely buy it. The fix is relatively easy and inexpensive. Could even be free if the hand and/or ratchet teeth can be peened to fit.
