do the grips look ok on this gun????

If you're gonna use your 638 "on the job" you might want to stick with the original rubber boot grips. I've got a matte 640 no dash the looks like the twin to Sips 642 with stags.. (Mine looks better though:)) You can track down magnas (wood) grips here in WTB or on e bay. You'll probably need a Tyler T, but thats a whole nuther issue.

Stags also look pretty good...and the scarring makes them easy to grab but still not stick to clothing...that is why I like magnas or stag....rubber is too sticky (especially on the ankle)...Pearl and smooth wood is too slick...

I have stags on my 60 with a tyler, and fully agree.

But once again what works for me, may not for you.

Nice looking grips but the humpback seems a bit too utilitarian for them...I think they'd look better on a nice blued 36 or a high polish stainless/nickel like that anniversary 38 super...of course the real test is how the feel...I like a little traction on my j-frame grips and those seem a bit slick.
Yeah, exactly.

"i have a NEW S&W 638-3 with new lighter spring kit installed and found the grips to "dress" it up.....what do you guys thing of the grips........."

I don't know about those grips. They are nice, but it makes your hump look big. ;)

I like the way they look on your 638! The factory ones may be better for lots of practice, but when "showing off" your gun, they'll make an impression. :)

I like em ! how about adding a gold (brass polished) tyler T . If your gonna go pimp ... go PIMP DADDY. the nice thing is you can always go back to stock at any time.

A man's gotta have a nice wedding gun...
