Do you carry a revolver for CCW? Which one?

with more info on the little 36 and the modifications done to it.

The stag boots were bought here on the forum and not marked but I would imagine they were made by Eagle grips.

I remember that thread, didn't recognize the gun with the stag boots-- it was set-up old school with magna's & a t-grip in all the photo's. How's that duracoat holding upo so far? I think I'da gone flat black if it was mine, not gray, but it do look good.

M64 ("Luscious") in Lobo Horsehide.

hotrod150 so far so good but I am a bit suspicious of its durability. If it does start coming off I am going to check on Metaloy and see if they have a dark or black finish.

My 638 loaded with 158+P SWCHP (FBI load) always.

When going into Indian country, a SW9VE becomes the primary and the 638 goes to backup role, carried crossdraw.Hard to argue with the capacity of the 9VE.

It gets a mixed load in the mag. First 6 are 124gr HP, followed by 115 fmj's.
(Better penetration against cover if things really go bad)

Both are light, reliable and easy to carry.

And of course, my wife carried her Model 65 3in...all the time :D

It depends as I do carry a full size 1911 very often.
Times when I don't feel up to the weight of the 1911,
I carry a 642 that has lots of holster wear/character.

My constant companion

I am rarely without my 342ti, with Crimson Trace #205 grips in a holster of my own design and making (thin and low)... appendix. 125gr Golden Saber +P.

My employer requires me to carry a S&W M&P .40. When off duty and having the choice I frequently carry either a j frame snubby or a model 10 snubby. Just started shooting a model 12 picked up. It has a promising future in the line up.

Nice little IWB holster, Elkhunt. It seems like an awful lot of the IWB holsters you see nowadays incorporate about half a cow's worth of leather PLUS some kydex for good measure! I like the simplicity of yours. I made up something sorta similar for my LCP but stitched the belt loop shut instead of having a snap.

If it does come off, stock up on flat black krylon and just take off the grips about once a week & fog another coat on.

Hotrod150... I sure like the color of your holster better than mine. But you are correct, it does not take much leather to hold those little guns in place.

For me it`s my Ruger LCR .357 with Crimson Trace laser. It`s a beast to shoot full mags, but it was never intended to be a target pistol or plinker. It just a belly gun period.
I love my Smiths, but The Ruger has got to be the perfect pocket pistol

Crummy Pic, but I found this Tagua holster that allows my small-ish self to conceal a 4" K frame.

I also have a 637 and a couple various autos in different sized to fit with different temps and clothing styles.

Well, last week or two I posted in this thread about how despite my revolver addiction I carry a Glock... but this last week I was able to pick up this no-lock Model 337PD here in the classifieds. Only 10.7 ounces, and it has so far been a real joy to front pocket carry with jeans in a Mika holster. Awesome gun. Still like the Glock and the firepower it brings, but in the summer, this will be very hard to beat:

I assume this being the S&W forum revolver section most people here carry a revolver for CCW, but perhaps not.

What do you carry; revolver or auto? If revolver, what is your primary carry?

Right now, this 66-2 is my EDC. I may be retiring it in favor of a 66-1 I just snagged.

I also carry a Colt Python snub when I want to change things up.
