Do you carry a revolver for CCW? Which one?

I recently purchased a Colt Detective Special, and am finding myself using it more and more for CCW.

Previously used a S&W 340PD, but I can't shoot the 340 nearly as well as I can the Colt. In addition, the 20 oz Colt with its bigger grip is fun to shoot at the range, whereas the 340 is just painful.

Also experimenting with a Glock 26. It shoots well, but so far I haven't been able to find a holster or carry technique that its comfortable for all day carry.

Depends on how I feel.

Quick trip out the door, the 640-1 loaded with GDHP (short barrel magnums) on the hip and a reload in my pocket. I shoot this one real good. (My daily on-duty backup gun)

Or, if it's not too hot outside; my Glock 17 (Duty gun). [Hard to beat this firepower when you really need it!] Not to mention the amount of trigger time I got on it.

On rare occasions, I strap on the tuned up Colt 1911 "smoke wagon", and two mags. I am probably walking around with a **** eatin grin on my face when I carry this one. For some reason I just love my Colt.

I recently picked up a 2" Model 10-6. I have been spending some time with it at the range, and for some reason I shoot the wheel guns better than the autos. [Because I slow down and concentrate more] As soon as I get around to it; I will qualify with it as an off-duty gun. Then, it will be my companion on trips around town.

I have spent many hours on the range over the past fifteen years. I am fortunate enough to be in a position that I carry daily, and train frequently; at my departments expense. But for off duty carry; my wheelguns give me the security without making me feel like I am just working in "plain clothes".

Go figure?

Daily carry at the office is a 638-3, with a neutered lock. During enforcement operations it's a Sig P229 in .357. While off-duty and in the back country it's a 629-1 3".

Most of the time it is my TT (tactical tupperware) Model 32 in 357 Sig. 16 rounds (+2 modification) and very accurate. Am also qualified with my 686 2 1/2" that I feel very comfortable with my simple IWB holster.

Concealed, I usually have a 1911 with me, but now and then I'll carry a 4" M25-5.
On those rare occasions that I open carry, it's usually a Vaquero.

I generally carry a Glock 17 with Black Talons, but often switch to my old favorite ... Colt Lawman Mk V 2" with .357 Golden Saber's ...

I have carried a dehorned M-60 in my right front pocket for years.I have a kydex dingus that keeps the revolver upright in the pocket.I load it with Winchester 158 swchp+p.

xsteinauge: Can you tell me more about the "dingus" of which you speak?

Perhaps a photo, if I dare ask?
