How come you have to vote to see the results of the poll? I voted the first time on this thread. What's the deal.
This is my S&W 1911. It is by far my favorite .45. I got it used at my local pawn shop for about $700. It came with box, papers and 2 extra mags
Got one - 108284. Would rather have the Novack fixed sights but I had to get the adjustible sights to get the ambidexterous safety. Paid $725 in my hands off of the auction sight that starts with gun...and ends in er...... I think I got a good deal on it![]()
I copied you Caj., same model and same price. Got it LNIB with 4 mags. Here is my ...Brok.. buy:

First range session, now I don't have to bring yard stick to measure groups, just a ruler:

Quickly deminished any regret I had selling my 4566TSW.
I have four 1911 pistols, and three of them are S&W: a 5" stainless, a 4.25" Compact ES, and a 3" Pro. I also have a Colt Government Model XSE in blue, 5". I have also owned 1911s made by Kimber, SIG, Taurus, Magnum Research, and Springfield, and I think S&Ws are the best (other than custom.)
Some people knock the S&W models, because of the external extractor and it not being a "pure" design...but that doesn't matter to me. When you stop and think about it, how many pistols have an internal extractor, other than 1911s?
