When in the Navy, (CB's) and we hit Okie.........
some of the natives that I went out to dinner with would show
and teach me the art of using chop sticks.
Being on the Island almost six months gave me lots of time to
get better at being able to feed myself, without starving.
I actually got to where I could pick up just ONE single grain of rice off my plate.
When we were getting close to shipping out, one of the young ladies
gave me a box that had a set of blood red chop sticks with square ends, tapered round ends and was inlaid with mother of pearl in the handles.
Now those were the quality sticks.......
not like the "Pull-apart" cheapo that come from the fast food places, here in the states.
Once you "Lock it in", eating with sticks can be fun....
