Yes,
We have our own sets in two different restaurants, one Chinese and one Sushi. Each set is in it's own box and in a rack on the wall.

Yep, for all Chinese or Japanese food.

Eating Chinese food with a fork is like putting ketchup on a well-done steak. Its a free country so do what you want.

Had to learn! I lived two years with a Eurasian girl (half Spanish & half Chinese).

Except for fried rice, then 50% chopsticks and 50% fork. And soup, of course (except the noodles!)

I lived in Japan for 3 years back in the 60s and learned how to use them. I don't now except at Asian restaurants.

Reminds me of a story from some time ago. We had a picnic at work. One activity was The Jelly Bean Race. Contestants grab two chopsticks and run to the end of the field, pick up a jelly bean and run back. First one back with a jelly bean wins.

We knew ahead of time who would win. She's Korean. Her dexterity and cunning surprised us though.

She stabbed the poor jelly bean with a single chopstick and ran back to glory.

Nope,,,Don’t see the point to it! Bought up using knife and fork and that’s how I eat! ;) And yes we do eat some Chinese once in awhile!

I grew up in a one-horse rural Illinois town, There’s a surprisingly good Chinese buffet there and nearly everyone uses a fork to shovel in their food.

I’ve traveled a lot in my time in the service, lived with a Japanese/Hawaiian roommate, and chopsticks have become a natural part of eating at Asian restraunts and I use the them at home sometimes as well.

Every time I visit said Chinese buffet back home, I use chopsticks. I’ve gotten lots of comments from the servers that I’m really good with them and they’re surprised I actually use them! To me it just doesn’t feel right to use a fork at such places. Not only that, but it slows you down a bit so you can savor the food instead of shoveling it down your gulliver.

I can use them fairly well, and I will if that’s what I’m given, but I honestly don’t see the point. If the setting or circumstances call for it, absolutely, but some Asian restaurants don’t even put them on the table any more. If it makes you feel more “traditional” to use them, go for it, but I doubt the cook and waiters care much. To each his own.

Never could get the hang of using chopsticks to eat rice, though.
I can pick up a single kernel or grab a bunch. I guess I've just figured it out.

I don't think they're better than a fork and certainly can't replace a spoon. Still, I enjoy using them. There are situations where I prefer them. Pretty much anything bite sized is perfect for chopsticks.

This is a great story!:D

Yes, they are great for Asian meals, you need the food in a small bowl. Never tried them on steaks, burgers, brats, etc.

I use them reasonably often. I don't go out of my way to use them but I'm perfectly competent with them. If that's what I'm given to use with the appropriate food, I'm good. I probably use large bamboo cooking chopsticks the most often because I've discovered they're the best implement to use when frying my spam in a Teflon pan. Yeah, the sticks are best for sushi or sashimi.
