EDC flashlights

Surefire Stiletto - I wear a suit almost every day, or at least cargo pants and this light has been faithfully clipped in my off side pocket every day for almost 4 years now. Multiple brightness settings, useful when used with a gun or just as a flashlight to look for the dropped chicken wing, rechargeable and I've been mega impressed with the battery life between charging. Mine is the first version. There's a newer version available currently.

Surefire G2 or an old 6Z. I do the belt mounted pouch thing cause I like the idea of it being concealable but also a little capable for an impact tool of sorts. My pockets are full of other stuff as well.

This has been riding in my pocket for a little over a year. It turns on by rotating the front to screw it in a little and the friction is just right - easy enough to do with one hand while holding the keys, but not so easy that it will turn on accidentally. It has two brightness levels, the first is a low light that is enough to illuminate the immediate area but not blind you. The full setting is surprisingly bright, enough to see well 50 yards or more.

It has a rechargeable battery that uses the now-universal micro USB phone charger. The charging jack is accessed by unscrewing the front until it pops forward under light spring pressure. In addition to the jack, there is an LED that goes from red to green when it's fully charged.

Very handy, very compact, about $16 on Amazon. I bought a couple more just to have in reserve in case they stop making them, or add some useless stupid feature like a strobe setting.

That's the one that I keep looking at. I should probably stop procrastinating and trying to rationalize carrying a dedicated flashlight along with my phone when it's so small, so light, and obviously much cheaper and more easily replaced than my phone.

I don't carry a flashlight on me today, but I am usually near one, home or car. Something like one flashlight per room in my house and garage and one in each car. Not too long ago I had a job in which I needed to go into a dimly lit storage room several times a day to look for parts. I kept a small nine-LED flashlight from Dollar Tree in my pocket just for that purpose and it was all I ever needed. It weighs nearly nothing.

I carry a SureFire E1D LED Defender everywhere. I believe it's an older 500/5 lumen model. (vs. the newer 600/5 lumens) At work it's a Streamlight PROTAC® 1L-1AA.

Didn't used to carry a flashlight. Now that I do, I use it regularly.

I carry a keychain Olight, same one Tom K does, and one of my other Olights in my pocket. (Wife says I need to be in a 12 step program for Olights).

I carried a Surefire Backup for over 10 years until I got introduced to Olight Now carry a 5T runs on AA battery. Perfect EDC in my opinion. Use it constantly along with my Leatherman Squirt P4.

Surefire Tactician is a nice daily carry light. wide spill for wide view.

Great company with solid products. Surefire, Malkoff, and a few others made in America, well thought out designs, tough as nails, simple operation with no excessive programming to make them work at the level needed, and your heirs will be using them.

We've recently had threads on EDC knives, SAKs and multi-tools. But how many carry a flashlight every day?
I've found that having a flashlight within easy reach to be a very useful tool. I use mine all the time.
My current EDC flashlight is a Streamlight Micro-stream. A tiny one AAA cell light that fits easily in my pocket. It puts out a surprisingly good beam and works for most all my needs.
When I was working, I carried a Streamlight Stylus in my shirt pocket. No more intrusive that an ink pen and always handy.

Do you EDC a flashlight? If so what kind?

Have been carrying a flashlight on my person since about 1998. Have a ASP belt loop light that has been hanging on my belt loop since then. Have upgraded it once under warranty. Also carry a Trustfire that uses a single 14500 LI battery that hits way above it's weight class. If I am going somewhere at night, I typically have a surefire P60 with LED dropped in my cover vest pocket.

I keep an Olight Baton (and OBulb) on my nightstand, a Warrior X Mini and i5T in both my range bags, and a i1R on my keychain. Additionally, I keep a Baldr Mini Tactical on all my handguns. Yes, I'm an Olight fan.

Now if we want to talk about where we have lights at......I guess you could call me a flashlight nut, not sure you can stand in my house and not see one somewhere. I can stand in the kitchen and count like 10 or more....:D

NEBO Redline rechargable with the USB connector. Bought a dozen for Christmas presents this year for the women in my life (Secretaries, daughters, etc ;))

When I first got married, my now Ex gave me a hard time about having so many flashlights. I remember one night, the power went out. She said give me a flashlight, I handed her one and then grabbed another for myself. She never again said a thing about all the flashlights.

You never need one until you do.

Well, I finally caved and ordered an EDC Flashlight.

In a previous post I had said that I couldn't see carrying a flashlight when my phone has one built-in, but since then I have repeatedly run into situations in which I wished that I had a small dedicated flashlight, so I finally decided that it was time to get one.

Although I was looking at the Olight Baton 3 at first, I ultimately went with the less expensive Thrunite T1 because it was on sale and cost roughly half the price of the Olight.

I guess I really am a Dinosaur! About 2 months ago I just upgraded from a regular Solitaire (2 lumens) to an LED Solitaire (47 Lumens). As a keychain light it's good for EDC. I also own at least 50 other flashlights (mostly Maglites) that are in every room, every vehicle, toolbox, etc so my Solitaire only gets used when not at home or not in vehicles. Works for me.

Maglites are excellent, high quality, low cost, made in the USA products. If they made a mini torch of similar size/features to the Olight Baton S1R, Thrunite T1, Wotech W1, etc, then it would have been my first choice, and I would have gladly paid more for an American-made product. I actually checked to see if they made anything like that, but no, not quite.

For years I carried Mag Lites. I had several 3cell / D , one in clip under dash. Several Penlites and AAA jobs. Then one afternoon there was a minor fire. A guy drilled through his service entrance with a 1/2" paddle bit. It smoked his bit and caught vinyl siding on fire. Fire Dept came, power company, rep and lineman and insurance investigator all before I arrived.
I was there to put in new service drop. While measuring I found a Streamlight / Strion Led rechargeable light, like new. Couldn't locate owner
the Cops got me a charger through police supply and I have carried ever since. Around 20yrs. I have lost it several times, left in cold and out in weather. Takes a licken and keeps on ticken.

My name is John and I have a flashlight problem.....

Carry an Olight Perun full size if you will at work, and a mini Perun on my time. They are great for lighting up stuff when I need 2 hands. I have a Olight Warrior in my work truck for when I want to see across the valley.....it's a little too bright honestly.

never carried one until i found myself searching in the dark. It's too easy to drop it in your pocket and as I age, I find I need to light things up more and more

EDC Flashlights

My EDC flashlight is the Microstream too, Greal little light and works on one AAA battery. You can't beat Streamlight products, and their warrenties are excellent. I have at least 6 or 8 of their flashlights.
